The mystery surrounding the attacks on the TNA roster has led to a major addition for Bound For Glory. The Hardys, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, will face Syx, the team of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw, in a Falls Count Anywhere match at TNA’s October 11 pay-per-view.

The match gives Matt and Jeff a chance to answer the group that has made its presence felt through repeated ambushes. Sawyer and Shaw were identified as the men behind the attacks, emerging under the Syx name after a period in which TNA talents had been targeted by unknown assailants. Their reveal did not end the conflict. Instead, Syx struck Matt and Jeff again, immediately making the veteran brothers central figures in the situation.

On the October 1 edition of Thursday Night iMPACT, Syx entered the ring to address its attacks on the roster and explain its reasoning. Matt and Jeff then confronted the pair and issued the Bound For Glory challenge. Matt specifically called for a Falls Count Anywhere stipulation, ensuring that there will be no limitation keeping the fight inside the ropes when the teams meet.

A Rivalry Built Around Ambushes

Syx arrived as an unknown threat, with the identity of the attackers becoming a key question around TNA programming. The eventual reveal of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw gave the issue a face, but their actions also made clear that this was not simply an isolated confrontation. The duo had gone after TNA talent broadly before turning its attention toward one of the company’s most established tag teams.

The Hardys’ response has been direct. Rather than waiting for another surprise assault or accepting a conventional tag team match, Matt and Jeff called Syx out and demanded the kind of environment suited to a volatile grudge fight. A Falls Count Anywhere contest removes count-outs and keeps the action from being confined to the ring area, allowing pinfalls or submissions to potentially occur wherever the match travels.

That stipulation is particularly significant considering how the rivalry began. Syx has relied on sudden attacks to create chaos and disrupt members of the roster. In a standard match, the Hardys would have a clearer structure and more defined boundaries to manage. At Bound For Glory, the rules will instead favor the team that can maintain control through an unpredictable setting.

For Matt and Jeff, that presents both an opportunity and a risk. The brothers have spent decades operating as a tandem in high-pressure situations, and they have long been associated with an aggressive, anything-can-happen style. Their chemistry could be especially valuable once the contest moves away from the ring. At the same time, Syx has already demonstrated a willingness to attack without warning, and the lack of restrictions gives Sawyer and Shaw more ways to press the advantage that helped establish them in TNA.

Bound For Glory Match Takes Shape

The Falls Count Anywhere match joins a Bound For Glory lineup that is already filled with championship bouts, multi-person matches and the annual Call Your Shot Gauntlet Battle Royal. The event is scheduled for October 11, with the Hardys-Syx issue now providing a personal tag team confrontation alongside the title-focused portions of the card.

Nic Nemeth is currently set to defend the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater. Nemeth’s place on the Bound For Glory card carries added significance because he and his brother Ryan Nemeth have a major match scheduled before the pay-per-view. On the October 8 edition of Thursday Night iMPACT, the Nemeth Brothers will challenge Matt and Jeff Hardy for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

That October 8 title defense gives the Hardys an important stop on the road to their meeting with Syx. Matt and Jeff will have to contend with Ryan and Nic Nemeth in a championship match just days before the Falls Count Anywhere bout. Any momentum, physical damage or unfinished business from that contest could affect the brothers’ condition heading into Bound For Glory.

The TNA X Division Championship will also be contested in a six-way scramble match. K.C. Navarro, Fabian Aichner, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth and BDE are listed for that championship encounter. With Ryan scheduled for both the X Division scramble and the tag team title challenge alongside Nic, the October 8 episode and Bound For Glory weekend could be particularly demanding for the Nemeth Brothers.

Elsewhere, Eddie Edwards is set to face Ricky Sosa, while the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Battle Royal has Bear Bronson, Avery Styles and Frankie Kazarian announced as participants. The Call Your Shot match traditionally adds a major future title opportunity to the event, making it a pivotal part of the card even as additional entrants are expected to shape the field.

Championship Matches Round Out the Card

The Knockouts World Championship will be on the line when Xia Brookside defends against Indi Hartwell. Brookside enters the event as champion, while Hartwell will be looking to leave Bound For Glory with the title in a one-on-one championship showdown.

Mustafa Ali will defend the TNA International Championship in a four-way match against Jason Hotch, John Skyler and Agent Zero. Tasha Steelz is listed alongside Agent Zero for the contest. Four-way rules place Ali in a difficult position, as he does not need to be directly defeated by every challenger in order for the championship to change hands. Hotch, Skyler and Agent Zero each have a route to the title in a match where the champion must account for multiple opponents at once.

The Hardys versus Syx is distinct from those championship contests because the focus is not on a belt. It is about retaliation, control and deciding whether the Hardy brothers can stop a new team from continuing to menace the TNA roster. Syx has explained its motives, but Sawyer and Shaw will now need to back up their words in a setting chosen by their opponents.

Matt and Jeff have put themselves in the center of the effort to confront Syx. Their decision to make the challenge public was a signal that they do not intend to be intimidated by the attacks. The Falls Count Anywhere format raises the stakes because neither team will be able to rely on a referee’s count to create separation or force the action back into a controlled environment.

For Syx, a victory over the Hardys at Bound For Glory would represent a major statement. The team’s reveal has already placed Sawyer and Shaw on the map, but defeating Matt and Jeff in a stipulation match would establish them against one of TNA’s most recognizable pairings. Conversely, a Hardy victory would halt Syx’s momentum and answer the ambushes that brought the group into focus.
