Help us keep the record straight.

A correction should make the record clearer for the next reader. Effective September 5, 2026 (UTC).

What to send

Use our contact form with “Correction” in the subject. Include the article or profile URL, the passage or field at issue, the corrected information and a source that supports it. For image concerns, identify the image and the creator, rights holder or license information we should examine.

Useful examples include an incorrect event date, a winner assigned to the wrong side, a missing unsanctioned-match label, a misleading caption or a broken source link. Disagreement with an editorial interpretation is also welcome, but does not by itself establish a factual error.

How we respond

The editorial desk reviews the claim against the available evidence. When we confirm a material factual error, we correct the affected item and add a note explaining what changed. The item's updated date should reflect that revision. Minor spelling, punctuation and formatting fixes may be made without a separate correction note.

If a source changes or evidence remains incomplete, we may clarify the uncertainty instead of presenting an unsupported replacement as certain. If an error undermines an article's central premise, a more substantial revision or withdrawal may be appropriate, with an explanation where practical.

Privacy and accountability

Sending a correction does not make your reply address public. We use it to follow up when necessary. Please avoid including information unrelated to the issue. See the privacy policy for contact-message handling.

This page describes our process; correction notes belong with the affected articles so readers can find the relevant change in context.
