Ring of Honor held its latest television tapings on September 28 at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida, delivering an extensive night of matches that featured multiple title bouts, a Proving Ground match, appearances from established AEW and ROH names, and a major main-event championship defense.

The tapings began on an emotional note as AEW President and ROH owner Tony Khan paid tribute to the late PAC. The tribute set a somber opening tone before the action moved into a lengthy collection of bouts expected to air across upcoming editions of ROH television.

At the top of the night’s championship results, ROH World Champion Bandido successfully retained against AR Fox. Fox was active earlier in the tapings as well, defeating LJ Cleary in a singles contest before later challenging the reigning world champion. Bandido’s victory keeps his ROH World Championship reign intact following one of the evening’s most prominent matches.

Three other title-related contests were also recorded. ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo retained her championship against Emi Sakura, while ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty defeated Mance Warner to remain champion. ROH Television Champion Action Andretti did not lose his title, but his defense against ELP ended in a time-limit draw. The draw left Andretti’s title reign standing while denying either competitor a definitive victory.

Championship Matches Shape the Jacksonville Tapings

Purrazzo’s successful defense over Sakura added another key result to the developing ROH Women’s Pure Championship picture. Sakura brought extensive experience into the match, but Purrazzo emerged with the title still in her possession.

Moriarty’s defense against Warner brought together two competitors with sharply different approaches. Warner’s physical, unpredictable style has often made him a difficult opponent to prepare for, but Moriarty prevailed to preserve his status as ROH Pure Champion.

Andretti and ELP, meanwhile, went the full time limit in their ROH Television Championship meeting. With no winner established before time expired, Andretti retained under the circumstances. The result also leaves room for continued tension between the two, should ROH choose to revisit the matchup.

Women’s Champion Athena appeared in a Proving Ground Match against Sirena Linton and scored the victory. Proving Ground matches give a non-champion an opportunity to earn a future title match by defeating or surviving the champion under the stipulated conditions. Athena avoided that outcome by defeating Linton, maintaining control of the ROH Women’s World Championship scene.

Women’s Division Produces Several Notable Results

Beyond the championship action, the women’s division was heavily represented throughout the tapings. Queen Aminata defeated Janai Kai in a match featuring two hard-hitting competitors, while Mina Shirakawa picked up a victory over Isla Dawn. Amira Soul defeated Ashley D’Amboise, and Lacey Lane defeated Cassie Lee.

Elsewhere, Hyan defeated Billie Starkz, Zayda Steel defeated Xanti Li, Robyn Renegade earned a win over Rachael Ellering, and Trish Adora defeated B3CCA. These results gave the tapings a broad showcase of the depth present across the ROH women’s roster and its regular guests.

The mixture of title matches, the Athena Proving Ground appearance, and multiple non-title singles bouts made the women’s division one of the clearest focal points of the Jacksonville recordings.

Tag Teams and Trios Fill Out a Packed Card

Tag team and trios action occupied a significant portion of the tapings. MxM and Johnny TV defeated the trio of Aaron Solo, Griff Garrison, and Nick Comoroto. The victory gave the flamboyant unit a notable result over a group featuring considerable size and power.

Blake Christian and Lee Johnson defeated Il Cartello Grillo, represented by KayJay Impala and Hayden Seal. Mark Davis also continued his singles run with a win over Ortiz.

In a multi-man contest, Alec Price, Jordan Oliver, and Top Flight defeated Grizzled Young Veterans and The Kingdom. The match brought together several teams and factions with established histories in the ROH and AEW landscape, with Price, Oliver, and Top Flight securing the win.

Dark Order’s Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and Preston Vance defeated Premier Athletes’ Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, and BEEF. Earlier in the tapings, Premier Athletes and BEEF had earned a win alongside their group over Nic Nolan, Parker Li, and Adrian Alanis, meaning BEEF worked on both sides of separate six-man matches during the evening.

The Outrunners and Dalton Castle defeated The Supastarz, the trio of Nikki Eight, Tommy Mars, and Jimmy Wild. The Infantry also defeated Isaiah Broner and Ren Jones, while Shane Taylor and Tehuti Miles scored a tag team victory over Kiran Grey and Darian Bengston.

Elijah Drago and Brady Booker defeated Tome Filip and Tyler Shoop, adding another win to the night’s wide-ranging tag team slate. Serpentico and The Colons defeated Dante Casanova, Saieve Al Sabah, and Chad Skywalker in another multi-person bout.

Singles Competition Features Familiar ROH Names

The Jacksonville tapings included a lengthy list of singles matches outside the championship picture. Matt Sydal defeated Bryan Keith, Juice Robinson defeated Daddy Magic, and Lio Rush defeated Charles Crowley.

Adam Priest defeated Alex Zayne, Bishop Kaun defeated Alan Angels, and Scorpio Sky defeated Main Man Oro. Satnam Singh defeated Jacked Jameson, continuing the night’s emphasis on featuring performers from throughout the broader AEW and ROH roster mix.

Soleil defeated Brandon Cutler in one of the more unusual matchups on the taping lineup. The result marked a successful outing for Soleil against a veteran regularly associated with AEW programming.

The Motor City Machine Guns also made an appearance during the tapings. No match result was listed for Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, but their presence added another established team to an event already crowded with tag team and trios activity.
