New Japan Pro-Wrestling brought the Super Junior Tag League to Sanyo Fureai Park General Gymnasium in Akaiwa City, Okayama, Japan on November 1, with Night Seven featuring a significant set of B Block tournament matches.

The evening’s league action saw The Swirl team of Lee Johnson and Blake Christian move to 4-1 and eight points with a win over United Empire’s Jakob Austin Young and Francesco Akira. Later, Ichiban Sweet Boys, Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles, matched that 4-1 record and eight-point total by defeating Hyo and YOH.

In the other B Block contest, Daiki Nagai and Titán picked up their first victory of the tournament, overcoming HOUSE OF TORTURE’s Dick Togo and SHO. Both teams entered the bout at 0-4, making the result especially important for Nagai and Titán as they got on the board with two points. Togo and SHO fell to 1-4 with two points following the loss.

The show also included a series of non-tournament multi-man tag matches featuring NJPW regulars and visiting talent. Mistico, Masatora Yasuda and Shota Umino defeated Master Wato, KUUKAI and Yushin Hatazawa, while KUSHIDA teamed with Nick Wayne and Taisei Nakahara to beat Ryusuke Taguchi, Kazuma Sumi and Tatsuya Matsumoto.

The Swirl Keep Their Place at the Front

Johnson and Christian continued their strong tournament run against the United Empire pairing of Young and Akira. The win gave The Swirl a 4-1 record, good for eight points after five B Block matches.

For Johnson and Christian, the result maintained the momentum that has defined their league campaign to this stage. In a round-robin tournament format, every victory matters not just for the immediate standings but for the pressure it places on every other team competing for a place at the top. Their fourth win means The Swirl remain one of the central teams in the B Block picture.

Young and Akira, meanwhile, dropped to 2-3 and four points. United Empire remain part of the block, but the defeat created a larger gap between them and the teams currently sitting on eight points. With the tournament moving forward, their remaining matches become increasingly valuable if they are to close ground on the leaders.

Akira is no stranger to the demands of New Japan’s junior heavyweight division, while Young has continued to represent United Empire in high-profile competition. But Night Seven belonged to The Swirl, whose combination now carries one of the best records listed in B Block.

Ichiban Sweet Boys Match the Eight-Point Mark

Fujita and Eagles left Okayama with an identical 4-1 record and eight points after defeating Hyo and YOH in the night’s final tournament match. The victory ensured that Ichiban Sweet Boys stayed level with The Swirl at the top end of the standings represented on the show.

The pairing of Fujita and Eagles has become a notable one in the junior tag scene, blending Fujita’s continued development with Eagles’ established experience in the division. Their result against Hyo and YOH was a particularly consequential one because their opponents entered the evening at 3-1 with six points. Rather than allowing Hyo and YOH to join or surpass the eight-point pace, Ichiban Sweet Boys handed them a second defeat.

Hyo and YOH now stand at 3-2 with six points. That total still keeps them within reach of the leading teams, but they no longer control their own path in the same way they did before Night Seven. A six-point record after five matches is competitive, though the margin for error is clearly smaller with both The Swirl and Ichiban Sweet Boys now sitting two points ahead.

The result also added to the competitive shape of B Block. Rather than one team separating itself from the field on this card, the night produced two eight-point teams. At the same time, Hyo and YOH remain a credible chasing side, and United Empire will need to make the most of their remaining opportunities after slipping to four points.

Nagai and Titán Break Through

The night’s other league match carried a different kind of importance. Nagai and Titán entered at 0-4, while Togo and SHO were also listed at 0-4. With both teams seeking their first tournament victory, the match guaranteed that one side would finally secure a breakthrough.

Nagai and Titán were the team that delivered, defeating the HOUSE OF TORTURE duo to improve to 1-4 and two points. The win changes the immediate outlook for the pair after a difficult start to the league. While their record leaves them behind the top teams in the block, earning the first victory is a meaningful response following four consecutive losses.

For Togo and SHO, the defeat left them at 1-4 and two points as well. The two teams are now level in the standings listed following the event, but Nagai and Titán own the head-to-head result from Night Seven. In a tournament where records and individual meetings can become important late in the schedule, that win gives Nagai and Titán a key positive result against a team on the same points total.

Titán’s presence also gave the match an international flavor, while Nagai continued to pursue a major league result alongside him. Against a HOUSE OF TORTURE team featuring the experienced Togo and the always dangerous SHO, getting the win represented a needed turning point on the night.

Undercard Features Junior and Heavyweight Names

Before the three B Block bouts, the Okayama card offered a broad mix of NJPW’s roster. Mistico joined Yasuda and Umino for a victory over Wato, KUUKAI and Hatazawa. The match placed established junior heavyweight names alongside younger competitors and Umino, one of the promotion’s prominent singles wrestlers.

Another six-man tag saw KUSHIDA, Wayne and Nakahara defeat Taguchi, Sumi and Matsumoto. The winning side combined KUSHIDA’s veteran status with Wayne and Nakahara, while their opponents included Taguchi alongside two younger wrestlers. The result added another victory to a card centered on the ongoing junior heavyweight tag tournament.

HOUSE OF TORTURE also appeared in a non-league six-man contest, as DOUKI, Kanemaru and Yujiro Takahashi defeated Ishimori, Robbie X and Gedo of Unbound Co. Although it did not affect the Super Junior Tag League standings, the match kept the faction active ahead of the later B Block appearance by Togo and SHO.

In the card’s heavyweight-oriented multi-man match, Wolf, Oleg and Yano defeated Taichi, Kojima and Uemura. The bout assembled a varied group of NJPW talent, including the veteran Kojima, the established Yano and several performers from different generations of the roster.

B Block Standings After Night Seven

The records announced with the tournament matches create a clear snapshot of the B Block race after the November 1 event. The Swirl and Ichiban Sweet Boys share the best listed mark at 4-1 with eight points apiece. Hyo and YOH follow at 3-2 with six points, with United Empire at 2-3 and four points.

Nagai and Titán, along with Togo and SHO, are each at 1-4 with two points. The latter two teams met on this show, and Nagai and Titán came away with the victory.

  • The Swirl: 4-1, 8 points
  • Ichiban Sweet Boys: 4-1, 8 points
  • Hyo and YOH: 3-2, 6 points
  • United Empire: 2-3, 4 points
  • Daiki Nagai and Titán: 1-4, 2 points
  • Dick Togo and SHO: 1-4, 2 points

With Night Seven complete, the B Block story is defined by the two teams at eight points and the chase still being led by Hyo and YOH. The Swirl and Ichiban Sweet Boys both protected their positions, but neither gained separation from the other on this card. That leaves their parallel runs as one of the central themes to watch as the Super Junior Tag League continues.
