New Japan Pro-Wrestling continued the 2026 Super Junior Tag League on October 30 at the Gifu Memorial Center Fureai Dome in Gifu, Japan. Night Five of the tournament featured three B Block matches, while the rest of the lineup brought together wrestlers from across the NJPW roster in multi-man competition.
The most notable tournament movement came from Hyo & YOH and the Ichiban Sweet Boys pairing of Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles. Both teams were listed at 3-1 with six points after their respective victories. Hyo & YOH defeated Daiki Nagai and Titán, while Fujita and Eagles overcame United Empire’s Jakob Austin Young and Francesco Akira.
The Swirl, the tandem of Lee Johnson and Blake Christian, also won on the night, defeating HOUSE OF TORTURE representatives Dick Togo and SHO. The event’s listed records had The Swirl at 3-1 and four points following the match, while Togo and SHO were listed at 1-3 with two points.
B Block Results From Gifu
Hyo & YOH entered their match against Daiki Nagai and Titán with an opportunity to strengthen their place in the B Block race. They did exactly that, handing Nagai and Titán another loss. The defeated side was listed at 0-4 and zero points following Night Five, leaving them still searching for their first tournament victory.

For Hyo and YOH, the result was their third win in four matches. Their listed six-point total put them alongside the Ichiban Sweet Boys on the night’s results sheet. In a league tournament, consecutive victories can be especially valuable because teams are not simply pursuing individual wins; they are trying to maintain pace with every other combination in their block. Night Five gave Hyo and YOH another successful result as the tournament continued.
Fujita and Eagles earned their own important B Block victory over United Empire. The Ichiban Sweet Boys were listed at 3-1 with six points after defeating Young and Akira, who moved to a listed 2-2 record and four points.
The matchup placed two teams with winning records against one another, making it a consequential contest for the middle portion of the tournament schedule. Fujita and Eagles emerged with the win and added further momentum to their campaign. Young and Akira, meanwhile, remained at an even 2-2 through four matches, with their listed four-point total keeping the team’s tournament record level after Night Five.
The third B Block bout saw The Swirl defeat Dick Togo and SHO of HOUSE OF TORTURE. Johnson and Christian were listed at 3-1 after the victory. Togo and SHO were listed at 1-3, having taken their third loss of the league.
With only the results from this event in view, all three winning teams added victories to their tournament records. Hyo & YOH and the Ichiban Sweet Boys were each listed on six points, while The Swirl’s event listing recorded four points alongside a 3-1 mark. The card did not include additional B Block matches beyond those three contests.
HOUSE OF TORTURE, Unbound Co. Pick Up Undercard Wins
Outside the tournament fixtures, HOUSE OF TORTURE secured a six-man tag team victory. DOUKI, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Yujiro Takahashi defeated Master Wato, KUUKAI and Yushin Hatazawa.
The match brought together established members of HOUSE OF TORTURE with Wato, KUUKAI and Hatazawa in a non-league setting. Although the Super Junior Tag League provided the event’s central competitive framework, these undercard bouts continued to give wrestlers across the roster a chance to build momentum and share the ring with a wide range of opponents.
Another multi-man contest saw Unbound Co. prevail. Taiji Ishimori, Robbie X and Gedo defeated Nick Wayne, KUSHIDA and Taisei Nakahara. Ishimori and Robbie X were joined by Gedo against a trio combining Wayne’s speed and high-profile presence with the veteran experience of KUSHIDA and the involvement of Nakahara.
The result added another win to the night for the Unbound Co. side. Ishimori, in particular, remains one of the recognizable names in NJPW’s junior heavyweight scene, while KUSHIDA has long been associated with that division as well. Their placement in opposing six-man teams gave the Gifu audience a notable junior heavyweight-oriented contest outside the official B Block matches.
Umino, Mistico and Yasuda Open the Night With a Victory
The opening result went to Mistico, Masatora Yasuda and Shota Umino. The trio defeated Ryusuke Taguchi, Kazuma Sumi and Tatsuya Matsumoto.
Mistico’s appearance added an international element to the Gifu card, while Umino teamed with Yasuda in the winning effort. Across the ring, Taguchi joined Sumi and Matsumoto. The bout set the tone for an event that mixed league competition with larger multi-man matches and featured wrestlers at differing stages of their NJPW careers.
Later, Aaron Wolf, Boltin Oleg and Toru Yano defeated Satoshi Kojima, Yuya Uemura and Taichi. The winning team combined Wolf and Oleg with Yano, while the opposition featured veteran Kojima alongside Uemura and Taichi.
That match was one of several on the card to sit outside the junior tag league standings, but it nevertheless assembled a significant collection of names. Kojima and Yano brought extensive experience to their respective trios, while Uemura, Oleg and Wolf represented different generations and paths within the NJPW landscape. The result went to Wolf, Oleg and Yano.

What the Results Mean Going Forward
The clearest takeaway from Night Five is that Hyo & YOH and Fujita & Eagles both continued to produce results at a strong rate. Each pair was listed at 3-1 with six points after four matches. Their wins over Nagai and Titán, and Young and Akira, respectively, ensured that neither team lost ground on this particular night.
The Swirl also left Gifu with a 3-1 record after beating Togo and SHO. Johnson and Christian have put together three wins in four outings, while Togo and SHO’s listed 1-3 mark reflects a more difficult start to their campaign. Nagai and Titán, listed at 0-4, remain winless after their loss to Hyo and YOH.
United Empire’s Young and Akira split their first four matches, moving to 2-2 following their defeat to the Ichiban Sweet Boys. A .500 record at this point leaves a team needing to turn future fixtures into a sustained run, particularly with other B Block entrants already accumulating multiple victories.
NJPW’s Super Junior Tag League now moves forward from Gifu with the B Block picture continuing to develop. Night Five did not settle the tournament, but it did reinforce the value of every result. Hyo & YOH and the Ichiban Sweet Boys each added another successful chapter to their campaigns, while The Swirl also remained firmly in the conversation through the record listed after its win over HOUSE OF TORTURE.
