Zoey Serrano has found her partner for Bound For Glory, and it is a familiar one. Serrano will team with Shayna Baszler to challenge Kiera Hogan and Allie for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship at the event.
The title match was set following developments on the October 8 edition of TNA Wrestling Thursday Night iMPACT. Hogan and Allie, the reigning Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, encountered Serrano backstage before their exhibition match. Following their victory, the champions took to the microphone and called out Serrano, offering her an opportunity to challenge for the titles at Bound For Glory.
The question immediately became who Serrano would bring into the match. That answer is Shayna Baszler, giving Serrano a reunion with a partner she knows well and adding another major championship contest to a Bound For Glory lineup that is already filled with title bouts, stipulation matches and the annual Call Your Shot Gauntlet.
Serrano and Baszler reunite for a championship opportunity
Serrano and Baszler have not teamed together since their WWE run as members of Pure Fusion Collective. The group also included Daria Rae, who is now a TNA on-screen authority figure. Their reunion at Bound For Glory brings the former partners back together in a very different setting, but with the same immediate objective: leaving with championship gold.

Baszler’s addition gives Serrano an experienced and established partner for one of the biggest matches on the TNA calendar. The challengers do not need to win a lengthy series of matches before getting their chance; they have been handed a direct route to the champions after Hogan and Allie issued the challenge on iMPACT.
For Hogan and Allie, the decision reflects considerable confidence in their position as champions. They were coming off a win in their exhibition match when they called Serrano out, choosing not to wait for another team to emerge through the division. Instead, they opened the door for Serrano to select her own ally. Serrano’s choice of Baszler ensures the champions will face a reunion rather than an untested pairing.
The match also creates an interesting connection around Rae. While she will not be entering the tag match as a competitor, her history with both Serrano and Baszler as part of Pure Fusion Collective places her near a significant reunion involving two people she once stood alongside. As an authority figure in TNA, Rae’s presence adds another layer of history to a title contest built around familiar partners reconnecting.
Hogan and Allie face a major Bound For Glory test
Kiera Hogan and Allie head into Bound For Glory with the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship firmly in their possession, but the challenge from Serrano and Baszler presents a different kind of pressure. The champions initiated the confrontation and made the offer, meaning they will have to back up that invitation on one of the promotion’s most important events.
There is no indication that Hogan and Allie will take the challengers lightly. Their decision to address Serrano after their match showed they were ready to make a statement. However, the result of that statement is a title defense against a team with a shared past and an immediate reason to operate with urgency.
Tag title matches can often hinge on cohesion as much as individual ability. Hogan and Allie enter as the established championship unit, while Serrano and Baszler return to a partnership that has been dormant since their WWE days. Bound For Glory will determine whether that prior chemistry can return quickly enough to overcome the reigning champions.
The announcement continues to shape a loaded Knockouts presence on the card. Xia Brookside is also scheduled to defend the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Indi Hartwell. With both the singles and tag championships set to be contested, Bound For Glory will be a defining night across the Knockouts division.
Bound For Glory card continues to take shape
The Knockouts tag championship match joins several previously announced bouts, including two other championship defenses and a multi-competitor X Division title scramble. Nic Nemeth will defend the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater, while Mustafa Ali puts the TNA International Championship on the line in a four-way match.
The TNA X Division Championship will be decided in a six-way scramble featuring champion K.C. Navarro against Fabian Aichner, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth and BDE. The format leaves Navarro with a difficult task, as he must contend with five challengers rather than preparing for one opponent.
Elsewhere, the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Battle Royal is set to feature a growing list of announced entrants. Trey Miguel has been named as the No. 1 entrant, while Joe Alonzo has been announced for the No. 20 position. Bear Bronson, Avery Styles, Frankie Kazarian, Harley Hudson, Vincent, Dutch, Elijah, Home Town Man, Brian Myers and A.J. Francis are also listed for the match.
The event will also include a Falls Count Anywhere match between The Hardys, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, and Syx, comprised of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw. Moose is scheduled to issue an open challenge against an opponent yet to be revealed, while Mickie James is advertised to appear.
With the Serrano and Baszler reunion now official, the Knockouts tag title match becomes one of the most personal championship encounters on the show. Hogan and Allie may have called for Serrano, but they will now have to deal with a challenger who has brought in a former ally with significant experience beside her.
