Joe Alonzo will enter the 2026 Call Your Shot Gauntlet with the most valuable positional advantage available.
On the Bound For Glory go-home edition of TNA Impact, Alonzo earned the No. 20 spot in Sunday’s 20-person gauntlet match. Trey Miguel, who was pinned by Alonzo during an eventful eight-man tag team contest, will start from the opposite end of the field at No. 1.
The result gives Alonzo a major opportunity in only his first Call Your Shot Gauntlet appearance. The independent standout joined TNA in August, and he now heads into one of the company’s highest-stakes annual matches with the benefit of avoiding the early stages entirely. Miguel, meanwhile, will have to survive every entrant who follows if he intends to leave Tampa with the coveted Call Your Shot trophy.
Bound For Glory will air live this Sunday from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, on TNA+.

Alonzo Finds His Opening In Chaotic Eight-Man Tag
The match that determined the key entry positions was anything but straightforward. Alonzo was on the same side as AJ Francis in an explosive eight-man tag, a bout marked by fast-paced action, bodies flying around ringside, interference, and a mixture of legal and illegal tags.
With so much unfolding around him, Alonzo kept watch for the moment that could alter his Bound For Glory outlook. That chance arrived after Francis tagged himself into the bout. Francis then dove onto Miguel with a TFL, setting the stage for the decisive outcome. Alonzo capitalized on the situation and scored the pinfall over Miguel.
The implications were immediate. Alonzo’s victory awarded him the No. 20 position, meaning he will be the final wrestler to enter the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. Miguel’s loss condemned him to the No. 1 slot.
In a gauntlet environment, that contrast can be enormous. The first entrant must establish momentum, withstand the opening waves of competition, and conserve enough energy to remain a factor when fresh opponents continue arriving. The final entrant, on the other hand, walks into a match after the field has already endured a lengthy struggle. He can assess the landscape, target competitors who have been worn down, and make decisions based on who remains.
That does not make the No. 20 spot an automatic path to victory. By the time Alonzo arrives, the remaining wrestlers may have formed temporary alliances, found a rhythm, or positioned themselves near a win. Still, there is no question that entering last is the most desirable place to be in a match built around attrition and timing.
What Is At Stake In The Call Your Shot Gauntlet?
The Call Your Shot Gauntlet is one of TNA’s most consequential stipulation matches because its reward can affect any championship picture in the company. The winner receives the Call Your Shot trophy, which may be cashed in for a match for any championship at any time.
That flexibility is the heart of the stipulation. The winner is not locked into a single title division, nor are they required to immediately declare their intentions. They can hold the trophy for as long as one year after winning it, allowing them to wait for a vulnerable champion, a favorable event, or the right personal rivalry before making their move.
For an incoming talent such as Alonzo, that prize could be transformative. Rather than climbing through every rung of TNA’s competitive ladder before getting into title contention, he could emerge from Bound For Glory with a guaranteed championship opportunity in his possession. Even if he elects not to cash in immediately, simply holding the trophy would make him a constant factor across the promotion.
The trophy also creates uncertainty for every champion. A titleholder may win a major defense and still face the possibility that the Call Your Shot holder is watching for the ideal moment. The stipulation turns the gauntlet winner into an active strategic threat for the next 12 months.
For Miguel, the stakes are equally clear despite his unfavorable draw. Starting first is a daunting assignment, but the potential reward would more than justify the challenge. A victory from No. 1 would be a statement of extraordinary resilience while also giving him the same championship leverage that Alonzo is pursuing.
A Defining Early Test For TNA’s Newcomer
Sunday’s match will be Alonzo’s first time competing in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. That makes the No. 20 draw especially significant: he will enter a major TNA signature stipulation without previous experience in its unique rhythm, but with a position that greatly reduces the amount of time he may need to spend in the ring.
Alonzo arrived in TNA this past August following a successful defense of the AAW Heavyweight Championship against The Home Town Man at Lockdown. Retaining that championship before signing with TNA established the kind of momentum that a rising newcomer wants to carry into a national promotion.
Now, the question is whether he can convert that momentum into the biggest victory of his TNA tenure so far. Alonzo has already shown he can capitalize when conditions become unpredictable. The eight-man tag was filled with distractions and changing circumstances, yet he was the wrestler who came away with the result that mattered most for Bound For Glory.
His alliance with Francis during the qualifying scenario also adds an interesting dimension to Sunday’s match. Francis’ involvement was central to the finish that put Alonzo at No. 20, but the Call Your Shot Gauntlet will ultimately offer only one trophy. Any cooperation that exists before the bell can quickly disappear once a championship opportunity is on the line.
Alonzo’s position affords him the luxury of patience. He will not need to reveal an early strategy or physically survive the opening portion of the match. Instead, he can prepare to enter at the moment when the remaining field is depleted and desperation is likely at its highest.
Miguel Faces The Longest Road
Miguel’s No. 1 assignment represents the harshest possible response to taking the fall on Impact. To win from the opening position, he must outlast the entire structure of the match. He will be forced to contend with each new arrival while absorbing the cumulative physical cost that comes with being present from the first bell.
There is also a mental challenge that accompanies entering first. Miguel cannot know which wrestlers will emerge later, who might target him because of existing conflicts, or whether chaos outside the rules will again influence the action. His only option will be to endure, adapt, and seize eliminations whenever opportunities arise.
That difficult road may also give Miguel a chance to make a memorable statement. The first entrant is often the wrestler who sets the tone of a gauntlet. If he can endure the early rush and remain standing deep into the match, the crowd will have a clear figure to rally behind. But the distance from surviving to winning remains substantial, particularly with Alonzo waiting at No. 20.
The contrast between the two positions gives Bound For Glory a simple central question: can Miguel overcome the worst draw in the match, or will Alonzo make the most of the best one?
Bound For Glory’s High-Stakes Sunday
Bound For Glory has long been positioned as a defining event on the TNA calendar, and the Call Your Shot Gauntlet once again carries consequences that can shape the promotion well beyond one night. Whoever leaves the Yuengling Center holding the trophy will hold a championship option that can be used at any point over the next year.
Alonzo has placed himself in the strongest possible starting position. He has momentum from his August signing, a recent victory over Miguel, and the final entry number in a match where timing can be as important as endurance.
Miguel enters with none of those positional comforts, but he still has the same prize in front of him. Starting at No. 1 means the odds are stacked against him, not that victory is impossible. In a match filled with interference, shifting alliances, and exhausted competitors, a single opening can change everything.
For Alonzo, Sunday is an opportunity to turn a promising arrival into a defining breakthrough. For Miguel, it is a test of survival from the opening second. And for the rest of the Call Your Shot field, the looming presence of the No. 20 entrant ensures that no one can feel secure until the final elimination is made.
