WWE Worlds Collide has its complete lineup for September 26, and the Rosemont, Illinois event is set to bring together performers from WWE Raw, SmackDown, NXT and AAA for a card built around major crossover matches, championship implications and one especially high-profile six-man tag team main event.

The headline attraction will see CM Punk, AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano and AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio join forces against Omos, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh. The match places several distinct WWE and AAA personalities in the same bout, while also putting Punk alongside one of the most recognizable figures in lucha libre history in Rey Mysterio.

In addition to the announced matches, Oba Femi will make a special appearance at Worlds Collide. The announcement ensures that the former NXT standout will have a presence on a show already featuring a substantial collection of talent from across WWE’s brands and AAA.

CM Punk and Rey Mysterio lead the Worlds Collide main event

The six-man main event gives Worlds Collide a blend of veteran star power, current AAA championship representation and an established WWE rivalry element. Punk will team with El Grande Americano, who enters the event as AAA Mega Champion, and Mysterio, who is serving as AAA General Manager.

Across the ring, Omos provides a major physical challenge for the opposing side. Dominik Mysterio’s inclusion naturally adds another chapter to the ongoing dynamic surrounding the Mysterio name, even with Rey and Dominik not meeting in a traditional singles contest. McDonagh rounds out the heel side of the main event and gives Dominik and Omos another experienced partner for the multi-person clash.

Worlds Collide is designed to showcase different styles and identities under the WWE and AAA umbrella, and the main event reflects that objective. Punk’s presence adds one of WWE’s most prominent names to the special, Rey Mysterio carries deep connections to lucha libre, and El Grande Americano brings the AAA Mega Championship directly into the center of the event’s top match.

There has been no additional stipulation announced for the six-man tag bout. Still, with the combination of Punk, Rey, Dominik, Omos and McDonagh involved, the match has the potential to become the defining moment of the September 26 card.

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship match set

Championship action will be part of the evening when La Catalina defends the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Roxanne Perez. La Catalina enters as champion, while Perez brings a major WWE presence to a match that could have significance for the women’s side of the AAA-WWE relationship.

The Reina de Reinas title has long represented the top of AAA’s women’s division. Perez will attempt to take that championship away from La Catalina in one of the card’s clearest inter-promotional tests. It is also a singles match with a straightforward title focus, providing a different kind of stakes from the event’s larger tag matches.

Another women’s match will pit Las Tóxicas against Fatal Influence. Flammer, La Hiedra and Maravilla will represent Las Tóxicas, while Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid will compete for Fatal Influence. The six-woman tag gives both groups an opportunity to establish momentum in front of an audience watching the continued crossover between the two promotions.

Jayne, Henley and Reid bring their established unit into a bout against a team that is familiar with AAA’s lucha environment. With six competitors involved, the contest should provide a showcase for the contrasting approaches and team chemistry of each side.

Four-way match will determine AAA World Cruiserweight title challenger

A future opportunity at the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship will be on the line in a Fatal 4-Way match. Axiom, Mini Vikingo, Je’Von Evans and E.K. Prosper will compete to become the number one contender for the championship.

That match may be among the most athletically ambitious contests on the card. Axiom and Evans have both shown that they can thrive in fast-paced WWE environments, while Mini Vikingo adds another AAA name to the mix. Prosper completes the field in a bout where the format guarantees that alliances will be temporary and every competitor has a direct reason to pursue a decisive victory.

The number one contender stipulation gives the match consequences that extend beyond Rosemont. Whoever emerges with the win will earn a title shot, making it one of the most important matches on an event that otherwise features several showcase-style crossover attractions.

For Worlds Collide, the bout is also an appropriate representation of the cruiserweight tradition associated with lucha libre. The four-way setting allows the competitors to create openings quickly, while the pursuit of a future championship match should raise the urgency throughout.

Lucha Brothers face Perros del Mal

The Lucha Brothers, Penta and Rey Fenix, will reunite as a team to face Perros del Mal’s Daga and Berto. Karmen Petrovic and Angel are listed to accompany Daga and Berto.

Penta and Rey Fenix are among the most recognizable brother tandems in modern lucha libre, and their appearance is a major addition to the Worlds Collide presentation. Their opponents will have support at ringside, potentially giving Perros del Mal an added tactical advantage during a match that figures to attract significant attention from fans of AAA’s tag team scene.

The match also highlights the importance of tag team wrestling on the show. Rather than presenting only singles bouts between WWE and AAA talent, Worlds Collide has assembled several multi-person contests that can emphasize familiarity between partners and the unpredictability that comes with expanded ringside involvement.

With Petrovic and Angel accompanying Daga and Berto, the Lucha Brothers will need to account for more than just the two wrestlers across the ring. Penta and Fenix, however, have extensive experience competing in high-pressure lucha tag matches and will be looking to make their reunion count in Rosemont.

Dragon Lee, Jack Cartwheel and a unique eight-person opener-style clash

Dragon Lee will face Jack Cartwheel in a singles match that offers another opportunity for a high-speed lucha showcase. Dragon Lee has a strong connection to the style and heritage celebrated by Worlds Collide, while Cartwheel’s inclusion adds an intriguing opponent for one of WWE’s most dynamic in-ring performers.

The card will also feature a distinctive eight-person tag team encounter: Mr. Iguana, La Parka, Adelicious and Mascarita Sagrada will take on Mini Abismo Negro, Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes and Myka Lockwood. Jackson Drake is listed as accompanying the latter team.

That contest stands apart from the rest of the announced lineup because of the range of personalities involved. Mr. Iguana and La Parka are immediately recognizable names for fans of AAA’s colorful presentation, while Mascarita Sagrada brings another established lucha identity to the babyface side. Their opponents will enter with Drake at ringside, creating another situation in which outside presence could affect the action.

While all of the matches announced for Worlds Collide contribute to the event’s crossover purpose, this eight-person match may most directly embody the spectacle and character-driven side of lucha libre. It is a chance for the performers to introduce or reinforce their identities in front of a WWE-associated audience while maintaining the vibrant spirit that separates AAA’s presentation from a typical WWE card.

Oba Femi’s role remains a point of interest

Oba Femi’s special appearance has been confirmed, though no match has been announced for him. That leaves an open question heading into the event: how will Femi factor into a show containing stars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT and AAA?

Femi has the physical presence to make any appearance feel consequential, particularly on a card that already includes Omos in the main event. Whether he addresses the Rosemont crowd, interacts with a WWE or AAA star, or simply makes his presence known, his addition gives fans another reason to watch the special closely.

At present, the confirmed announcement is limited to Femi appearing at Worlds Collide. No opponent, segment or further role has been specified, and the focus remains on the announced matches.
