The Creed Brothers’ time with WWE has come to an end. Brutus and Julius Creed have been moved to the alumni portion of WWE’s official website, with their departures coming after their contracts expired.
The split is understood to be a mutual one rather than a release initiated solely by either side. “It appears to be a mutual parting of ways as their deal has expired,” was the description attached to the situation. Neither brother has publicly outlined what is next for the team at the time of their alumni roster move.
The departure removes an accomplished and distinctive tandem from WWE’s men’s tag team landscape. Known for their amateur wrestling backgrounds, explosive suplex-based offense and imposing physical presentation, the Creeds developed into one of NXT’s most prominent teams before receiving a larger-stage opportunity on Raw. Their WWE run included the NXT Tag Team Championship, a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic win, association with Diamond Mine and later involvement with Chad Gable’s American Made group.

Although their final months included a return to NXT and activity beyond WWE’s usual in-house confines through AAA, their last recorded WWE television matches arrived months apart on Raw and NXT. The news now closes a chapter that began with their signing in 2021.

From WWE signees to NXT champions
Brutus and Julius Creed joined WWE in 2021, entering the system with legitimate amateur credentials and an identity that immediately set them apart from much of the developmental roster. Their work was rooted in power wrestling and grappling, but the brothers also showed an increasing willingness to adapt their presentation as their time in WWE progressed.
They became central members of Diamond Mine alongside Ivy Nile. The faction gave both Creeds a natural environment: a competitive, mat-focused setting where their athletic backgrounds could be emphasized. It also helped establish the brothers as more than a newly assembled tag team. They were presented as a serious unit with cohesion, a shared style and an obvious connection built on their real-life relationship.
Success followed in 2022. The Creed Brothers won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic that year, a major achievement for a team still relatively early in its WWE tenure. They also captured the NXT Tag Team Championship in 2022, placing them among the division’s leading acts during a period when NXT was continuing to reshape its roster and identity.
The title win and tournament victory represented the peak of their developmental run, but they were also meaningful markers of WWE’s confidence in the brothers as a long-term tandem. WWE has often used the Dusty Cup as a platform to elevate teams toward championship contention or main-roster opportunities, and the Creeds’ victories supported the idea that they were being viewed as an important part of the company’s tag division.
Raw call-up and American Made alignment
Following their NXT accomplishments, Brutus and Julius made the move to Raw. Ivy Nile later joined them on the main roster, maintaining the connection that had been built during their Diamond Mine days. The trio’s arrival gave Raw another athletic team capable of working a physical style, while Nile’s presence ensured that the act retained an established dynamic rather than beginning from scratch.
The brothers eventually aligned with Chad Gable as part of American Made. That association fit naturally with the Creeds’ backgrounds. Gable’s own reputation as an elite mat wrestler and technician gave the group a strong thematic foundation, and the Creeds could be used as the power component of the act while still keeping their wrestling credentials central to the presentation.
American Made also put Brutus and Julius in a different role than the one they occupied in NXT. Rather than being primarily defined by their own rise through the tag ranks, they became part of a broader main-roster group. It created additional television opportunities, but it also meant their individual tag trajectory was tied to the direction of the faction and Gable’s programs.
Their final match on Raw took place on May 18, when The Creed Brothers lost to Los Americanos. That bout ultimately stands as their last Raw appearance in the ring. While it did not signal their departure at the time, it now serves as the final main-roster match of a run that saw the brothers move from the NXT tag division to a prominent Raw stable.
A late return to NXT
The Creeds were not finished with WWE television after their last Raw match. In September, they returned to NXT and attacked Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno. The appearance placed them back in the brand where they had enjoyed their greatest championship success and gave them a fresh direction within the tag-team scene.
Brutus and Julius then entered the Dusty Cup, revisiting the tournament they had won in 2022. Their return carried obvious historical significance because of that earlier victory, but this time their campaign was brief. Hank and Tank eliminated The Creed Brothers in the quarterfinals on the October 20 episode, which became the team’s final match in WWE.
The result now has added importance in hindsight. A quarterfinal loss is ordinarily a routine part of tournament storytelling, particularly for a team capable of returning to the title picture at any point. With the brothers’ contracts having reached their end, however, the match instead marks the last chapter of their in-ring WWE partnership for the foreseeable future.
There has been no indication that the October 20 loss was designed publicly as a farewell. The contract situation and alumni roster placement provide the clearest indication that their WWE tenure has concluded. As with any departure tied to an expired agreement, the possibility of future discussions cannot be ruled in or out based solely on the current information. For now, though, the Creeds are no longer active members of the WWE roster.
AAA appearances as Los Hermanos Americano
One of the more unusual elements of the brothers’ final stretch with WWE was their work in AAA. Brutus and Julius competed under luchador masks as Los Hermanos Americano, giving them a dramatically different visual identity from the one fans had seen in NXT and Raw.
The masked presentation demonstrated a willingness to experiment with the team’s character work and brought the Creeds into a different wrestling environment. Their AAA appearances also made their final WWE period more varied than a standard main-roster tag run, as they were able to perform under a separate name and aesthetic while remaining identified with WWE.
That work may be remembered as a notable footnote in their WWE careers, particularly because it arrived alongside their Raw involvement and eventual NXT return. The Creeds had already shown they could function as intense amateur-style competitors, title contenders and faction members. Los Hermanos Americano added another layer to a run that was not limited to one presentation.
What the departure means for WWE’s tag division
The loss of The Creed Brothers leaves WWE without a team that had a clear athletic identity and an established record of developmental success. Tag teams can take years to build into recognizable units, and the Creeds arrived with an advantage in that regard: their real family connection and shared sporting history made their partnership immediately believable.
They also had a style that could be slotted into a variety of programs. Their amateur wrestling base allowed them to work credibly alongside technically focused acts, while their size and strength made them viable opponents for more traditional power teams. The brothers could be portrayed as dominant competitors without abandoning the competitive sports framing that defined their act.
At the same time, their exit creates a new question around the future of American Made and whether the group’s identity will change without Brutus and Julius. Chad Gable remains a central figure in that equation, but the Creeds supplied much of the stable’s tag-team presence. Their alumni roster move ensures that any future direction for the group will need to account for their absence.
For Brutus and Julius, the immediate focus will naturally turn to what comes after WWE. Their résumé includes a WWE signing in 2021, the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, the NXT Tag Team Championship, main-roster exposure on Raw, work with Diamond Mine and American Made, and masked appearances in AAA. Those accomplishments give the pair a substantial foundation as they move beyond their first major national wrestling home.
Their departure is a significant change for a WWE tag division that has seen the brothers occupy multiple roles across several brands. Whether their paths eventually lead them back to WWE or toward new opportunities elsewhere remains unknown. What is clear is that The Creed Brothers’ current WWE run has ended, with their final match having taken place in the Dusty Cup quarterfinals on October 20.
