Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are set to take control of a major TNA Wrestling television taping in October, with the company announcing that The Hardys will have full creative control over the October 13 edition of Thursday Night iMPACT! in Dothan, Alabama.

The event at the Dothan Civic Center is being presented as a celebration of the start of the brothers’ 35th year in professional wrestling. Their careers began on October 15, 1992, in North Carolina, and the October 13 taping will air two days later, on October 15, as an episode of Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella has granted Matt and Jeff authority over the entire presentation for that night. The announcement makes clear that the brothers will serve as the matchmakers, determine surprises, establish match stipulations, and take a major in-ring role on the show themselves. In short, the Dothan crowd will see a TNA event shaped directly by the creative ideas of one of wrestling’s most enduring and decorated tag teams.

“Every element of the October 13th show in Dothan will be orchestrated from the minds of Jeff & Matt,” TNA stated in its announcement.

The premise gives The Hardys an unusual level of on-screen power for a single episode of television. Creative-control concepts have frequently been used in wrestling to produce unpredictable cards, personal feuds, unusual stipulations, and surprise appearances. In this case, the idea is also tied to a legitimate milestone for two performers whose body of work spans more than three decades and multiple generations of fans.

Matt and Jeff Hardy’s legacy has been built on their combination of tag-team innovation, high-risk spectacle, reinvention, and longevity. The pair have competed across nearly every major stage in modern North American wrestling, earning championship recognition in WWE, WCW, TNA, Ring of Honor, and elsewhere. TNA noted that they are the only team to have held the WWE/World, WCW, TNA, ROH, Raw, and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

That history makes the October 13 broadcast more than a standard themed episode. The show is specifically designed to honor the breadth of The Hardys’ careers while allowing them to put their own stamp on a current TNA card. Exactly which matches, surprises, and stipulations will result from the brothers’ control has not been announced.

A milestone night in Dothan

The October 13 taping will be the first of two consecutive TNA events at the Dothan Civic Center. TNA will return to Dothan on Wednesday, October 14, with both nights being recorded for future episodes of Thursday Night iMPACT!.

The Dothan dates are significant for the promotion beyond the Hardy-focused celebration. They mark TNA’s first live events in Dothan, Alabama, in more than a decade, as well as the company’s first television tapings in the city. The October 13 show will air on AMC and AMC+ in the United States, Sportsnet 360 in Canada, and TNA+ internationally.

TNA is inviting the audience to participate directly in the anniversary atmosphere. Fans attending the October 13 event are encouraged to dress as either Matt or Jeff from any point in their lengthy careers. That leaves room for tributes to their earliest independent-wrestling looks, their breakout tag-team presentation, the colorful eras that helped define the late 1990s and early 2000s, or their more recent TNA identities.

One fan dressed as Matt and one fan dressed as Jeff will be selected as the best Hardy look-alikes. Those winners will be first in line for the post-show meet-and-greet session with the actual Hardys. TNA will also take a commemorative photograph featuring Matt, Jeff, and the winning fans, with the image set to appear on the company’s social channels and website.

Special Hardy merchandise will also be available exclusively at the Dothan shows. The items are being produced as part of the 35-year celebration, making the two-night stop a destination event for fans who have followed the brothers from their early days through their championship runs in numerous promotions.

Bound for Glory implications

The October 13 television taping is scheduled to be TNA’s first show following Bound for Glory 2026. Before the Dothan events, The Hardys are currently scheduled to face Syx, the team of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw, in a Falls Count Anywhere match at TNA’s biggest annual event.

That match could have clear implications for the tone and direction of the creative-control edition of iMPACT!. A Falls Count Anywhere environment is inherently difficult to predict, and the outcome at Bound for Glory may influence whatever Matt and Jeff have planned for the television taping. At present, TNA has not revealed whether Syx will be involved in Dothan or whether the brothers’ creative plans will center on an entirely different set of opponents and stories.

Regardless of the result, the timing creates an intriguing situation. The Hardys will enter a night built around their own professional anniversary immediately after a high-stakes match that allows action to spill throughout the venue. Should they emerge from Bound for Glory looking for celebration, payback, new challengers, or an opportunity to reshape the card around another issue, they will have the authority to do so on October 13.

The promised ability to select stipulations is especially notable given the style that helped make The Hardys famous. Ladder matches, Tables matches, and other physically demanding specialty bouts have been closely associated with the team throughout their careers. TNA has not announced any specific stipulations for Dothan, but the brothers’ history ensures that fans will be watching for whether their creative authority leads to an unconventional in-ring format.

Deep roster set for the Alabama tapings

A broad group of TNA talent has been confirmed for the Dothan events, giving Matt and Jeff a substantial roster from which to build the October 13 program. Nic Nemeth, Leon Slater, Mustafa Ali, Xia Brookside, and Elayna Black are listed among the names set to appear, along with The Hardys themselves.

Also announced for the two-night stop are Cedric Alexander, Moose, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, KC Navarro, Joe Alonzo, Fabian Aichner, Avery Styles, Ricky Sosa, Elijah, Frankie Kazarian, Mila Moore, Harley Hudson, and Zoey Serrano. TNA has indicated that additional talent will be involved as well.

That lineup offers possibilities across the company’s singles, tag-team, and Knockouts divisions. Established veterans such as Moose, Kazarian, Edwards, and Myers bring extensive TNA experience to the cards, while performers including Slater, Navarro, Brookside, Black, Hudson, and Serrano represent different parts of the promotion’s evolving roster. The presence of names with varied histories around The Hardys could prove particularly important if the brothers choose to use their booking power to revisit old rivalries or present fresh combinations.

The October 13 and October 14 events will both include post-show meet-and-greets, offering attendees access to the TNA roster for photos, autographs, and individual fan interactions. Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Nemeth, Slater, Ali, Brookside, and Black are among those advertised for those post-show opportunities.

The Hardys remain central to TNA’s present

Anniversary celebrations in wrestling often focus entirely on the past, but TNA’s approach with The Hardys places the team’s legacy alongside their active role in the company. They are not simply returning for a ceremonial appearance or being recognized through video packages. They are scheduled for a major match at Bound for Glory, then being handed control over a nationally televised episode of iMPACT!.

It is a fitting acknowledgment of the position Matt and Jeff have maintained over an exceptionally long period. Their careers have included championship success, iconic tag-team moments, solo reinventions, changes in style, and years of experience in front of audiences that span several eras. The October 13 taping will invite fans to celebrate that history while also asking what The Hardys can create when the show is placed in their hands.

For TNA, the Dothan stop provides a distinctive post-Bound for Glory launch point. For The Hardys, it will be an opportunity to begin their 35th year as professional wrestlers on their own terms. The answers to what they have planned will arrive when TNA heads to the Dothan Civic Center on Tuesday, October 13, before the special episode airs on AMC on Thursday, October 15.
