Netflix’s relationship with WWE may be headed toward a broader entertainment strategy that reaches beyond WWE Raw, documentary programming and sports-related guest appearances. Gabe Spitzer, Netflix’s Vice President of Global Live Sports and Entertainment, has said WWE Superstars are meeting with the company’s film and scripted-series teams as Netflix looks for ways to place wrestling personalities across more of its programming.

The comments offer a clear indication that Netflix sees WWE’s roster as more than a group of performers attached exclusively to weekly wrestling broadcasts. With Netflix already serving as the domestic home of Raw and carrying WWE content internationally since 2025, the streaming company is now exploring whether recognizable Superstars can fit naturally into its wider slate of entertainment and live sports offerings.

Spitzer discussed the subject while highlighting Seth Rollins’ appearances connected to Netflix’s NFL coverage. Rollins has become one of WWE’s more visible crossover representatives on the platform, and Spitzer pointed to both his enthusiasm and his willingness to participate as reasons Netflix wants to continue working with him.

“Seth has been great. We’ve had him on NFL. We hope to have him back. He’s a big Bears fan so we’ll have to have him back on Christmas and he was great on Skyscraper. He’s awesome.”

That praise was followed by the more significant revelation: Netflix is actively speaking with other WWE talent about potential placements across the service. Those conversations are not limited to the company’s sports operation. Spitzer said the objective is to determine where WWE personalities could be cast in Netflix movies and scripted television projects as part of a larger effort to connect the wrestling product with the rest of the platform.

“We’re constantly meeting with other WWE talent to see if there’s a fit in the sports phase. They’ve been great partners in trying to volunteer that time. Not just in sports. They’re meeting with our film and scripted series team. How can we cast some of those superstars in some of our shows? That creates a larger cohesiveness across Netflix. It can help lift WWE and help us in terms of viewership to create more of that fan affinity.”

A Wider Role For WWE Talent On Netflix

The remarks do not identify which WWE Superstars have met with Netflix’s film and scripted-series personnel, nor do they confirm any roles, projects or production timelines. Still, Spitzer’s comments establish that the outreach is taking place and that Netflix views it as a meaningful part of its overall WWE partnership.

For WWE, the approach could create additional mainstream visibility for performers outside the traditional wrestling environment. Superstars have long crossed into films, television, music, sports media and reality programming, but Netflix’s reach gives the current arrangement a particularly notable scale. The platform can promote a WWE personality to viewers who may not watch weekly wrestling, while WWE can benefit from having its stars appear in programming that is not directly branded around the ring.

Netflix, meanwhile, gains access to a roster built around character work, live performance, promotional skills and a dedicated audience. WWE performers are accustomed to playing broad personalities in front of major audiences and handling media obligations around the world. That does not automatically translate to every acting or presenting role, but it makes the WWE roster a useful pool of potential talent for a company producing material in numerous genres.

Spitzer framed the effort in terms of “cohesiveness,” a word that reflects how Netflix appears to be approaching its WWE deal. Rather than treating Raw as a single standalone acquisition, the company is looking for ways to make WWE part of the larger Netflix ecosystem. That can include promotional appearances tied to live sports, unscripted projects such as WWE Unreal, and potentially acting opportunities in movies or scripted series.

Seth Rollins Continues To Be A Key Crossover Figure

Rollins has already emerged as an early example of that strategy. His presence on Netflix NFL broadcasts puts an active WWE star in front of a sports audience that may overlap with wrestling fans but is not limited to them. His well-known support for the Chicago Bears also gives Netflix an organic angle for future NFL-related appearances, including the Christmas reference made by Spitzer.

The executive also mentioned Rollins being “great on Skyscraper,” signaling Netflix’s satisfaction with his work in a setting outside conventional WWE programming. The comments do not detail a specific next assignment for Rollins, and there is no confirmation that he will be part of Netflix’s Christmas NFL coverage. Spitzer’s remarks nevertheless make clear that Netflix hopes to bring him back into its sports presentation.

Rollins’ role is important because it shows the type of crossover Netflix can pursue without needing to pull a wrestler completely away from WWE television. A Superstar can remain an active part of the wrestling roster while appearing on an NFL broadcast, participating in an entertainment project or helping promote another Netflix initiative. In theory, that model allows both sides to benefit from a performer’s visibility.

It also suggests that Netflix’s WWE relationship could provide talent with different kinds of opportunities than a standard distribution agreement. The value is not only in where WWE shows are streamed. It can also be in access to an entertainment company with sports broadcasts, scripted productions, films and an enormous global subscriber base.

The Partnership Has Expanded Since 2025

Netflix became the home of WWE Raw in the United States and all WWE content internationally in 2025, marking a major shift in WWE’s media distribution. The partnership immediately placed WWE’s flagship Monday night program within one of the world’s largest streaming services and created regular opportunities for Netflix to promote WWE alongside its other programming.

Since then, the relationship has included projects intended to give viewers more access to WWE and its performers. WWE Unreal is one example of programming that presents the company through a different lens than a weekly in-ring show. Netflix’s stated interest in placing Superstars in other areas of the service would be another step in that direction, further blending WWE’s audience with the platform’s broader content library.

This kind of integration matters because streaming platforms are increasingly focused on keeping viewers engaged across different categories. A fan who arrives for Raw may discover an NFL broadcast, a reality program or a scripted show featuring a familiar WWE face. Conversely, someone who sees a WWE Superstar in a Netflix film or series may become curious about the wrestler’s weekly work. Spitzer specifically described this as a way to help create “fan affinity,” underscoring the value Netflix places on that audience connection.

No Casting Announcements Yet

Despite the scope of the comments, there are still significant unknowns. Netflix has not announced a list of WWE Superstars being considered for acting roles, and no individual film or scripted series has been named. There is also no indication whether discussions are focused on guest spots, recurring roles, voice work, reality-adjacent projects or larger featured parts.

That uncertainty is important. Meetings between performers and creative teams do not guarantee casting, and the development process for film and television can move slowly. WWE scheduling also remains a consideration for active talent, particularly performers appearing regularly on Raw, SmackDown, premium live events and international tours.

Even so, Netflix’s willingness to bring WWE talent into conversations with multiple internal departments is a notable development. It indicates an interest in building individual stars as recognizable Netflix personalities, not simply promoting them when a wrestling show is about to air.

For now, Rollins stands as the most visible example cited by Netflix. But Spitzer’s comments suggest he may not be the only WWE name appearing elsewhere on the service in the future. As Netflix continues to develop its live sports business and expand its entertainment slate, WWE Superstars could become an increasingly familiar presence across programming far beyond Monday night wrestling.
