Lil Yachty’s WWE involvement has grown into something far more personal than a celebrity crossover.
The rapper entered WWE in March, first appearing as an on-screen manager for Trick Williams before later stepping into the ring himself. What began as a high-profile association on SmackDown has developed into a close friendship with Williams, the reigning WWE United States Champion. “Man, that is like my brother. Like that relationship, I couldn't have paid for it. I couldn't have asked for it. That was like dropped down from god, you know? Like, I couldn't have asked for that friendship, man,” Yachty said. “He's been like the most positive influence on my life I've ever had, ever. And I've always wanted like an older brother like that.”
Those comments add another layer to Yachty’s WWE run. Celebrity appearances in wrestling often operate on a short-term basis: a musician, athlete, actor, or influencer arrives to create a moment, receives a major spotlight, and then moves on. We live a different life. I'm up all night, it's a lot of drugs and women, and it's a different lifestyle. Trick is like a really routine, really scheduled, really healthy, really clean, on point, just like a structured guy.”
