Kofi has made it clear that Austin Creed and New Level did not arrive in AEW simply to add another accomplished team to an already crowded tag division. While their early run has placed them alongside Swerve Strickland and in the middle of a volatile AEW World Trios Championship picture, Kofi has identified a separate dream scenario that played a major role in bringing the duo to the company: finally sharing the ring with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

Speaking on The Mick and Kenny Show, Kofi told Mick Foley that a clash involving himself, Creed, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson and Omega has been on the pair's minds for a long time. For Kofi, the opportunity to potentially turn that idea into an actual AEW program was not merely an appealing possibility after the move. It was the principal motivation behind it.

“The main reason that we came to AEW was for the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega,” Kofi said on The Mick and Kenny Show. “And again, going back to manifestation, we had a, like a video game challenge with the Bucks and Kenny, and we had a big face off when we were still with WWE.”

That statement gives added context to New Level's place in AEW. Kofi and Creed have already been positioned around high-profile names, and their current association with Strickland has kept them close to one of the promotion's biggest ongoing conflicts. Their pursuit of the AEW World Trios Championships has also put them opposite “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido, with the intensity of that rivalry leaving open the possibility of a Texas Death Match.

But the program Kofi described reaches beyond the immediate championship chase. It is rooted in a matchup that could combine two highly recognizable teams with Omega, a performer whose standing in tag and trios competition is already deeply tied to AEW's history. The prospect is particularly notable because Kofi and Creed's ambitions are not limited to a conventional title opportunity or a single marquee bout. They are looking toward a collision with wrestlers they have openly viewed as dream opponents.

A Long-Discussed Matchup Moves Closer

Kofi recalled that he and Creed previously had a public moment with The Young Bucks and Omega despite the complications that can come with talent from different promotions interacting. He said the earlier video game challenge and face-to-face exchange stood out precisely because such interactions were not always easy to arrange.

“I don't know how that was allowed to happen, because they were very particular about not letting people interact with people from other promotions,” Kofi said. “So we talk about it all the time, like our dream opponents being the Young Bucks, being Kenny Omega. And now that we're here, we're on the cusp of it actually being possible to happen.”

The idea of “manifestation” has become a useful way to frame the situation. What had once been a hypothetical matchup discussed by performers on separate rosters can now be developed within the same company. That does not guarantee a match, much less establish its exact format, but it changes the conversation entirely. The necessary pieces are now under one AEW umbrella, and New Level's arrival has created an obvious direction for the promotion to explore.

There is also more than one possible path to a confrontation. Kofi's comments focused on both The Young Bucks and Omega, which naturally invites speculation about a six-man or trios encounter. At the same time, The Bucks' position as AEW World Tag Team Champions gives Kofi and Creed a direct tag-team objective if they can work their way into championship contention. A singles or multi-man variation involving Omega remains possible in theory, while a larger rivalry could include the parties in different combinations over time.

For now, the clearest competitive route runs through the tag titles. The Young Bucks recently defeated FTR, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage to capture the AEW World Tag Team Championships for the fourth time. That result restored Matt and Nick Jackson to the center of AEW's tag division and immediately created a high-value target for every team looking to climb the ranks.

New Level would need to earn a title opportunity before any championship match could be made official. Still, Kofi's remarks make the potential stakes easy to understand. A title program against The Bucks would not only give Kofi and Creed a chance to challenge for major AEW gold; it would also deliver the meeting they have wanted since before they entered the company.

All In Moment Offered a Preview

AEW All In provided a small but meaningful indication of how much interest there could be in seeing the teams collide. Kofi and Creed came face to face with The Young Bucks during a confrontation that also involved Copeland, Cage, FTR and the Motor City Machine Guns. With that many established teams sharing the same space, the moment did not settle anything. It did, however, put New Level and The Bucks in direct proximity and offered a glimpse of a possible future rivalry.

Kofi specifically pointed to that encounter, as well as the following episode of AEW Dynamite, as moments that made the possibility feel increasingly tangible.

“Even at All In, and then the Dynamite after, we had the little ships in the night, and I was like, ‘Oh my god. It's so close,’” Kofi said.

Those brief crossings can often matter in AEW, especially when they involve wrestlers who have a public history of expressing interest in facing one another. They do not necessarily signal an immediate match announcement, but they can establish the visual and narrative groundwork for a program down the road. In this case, the response from Kofi suggests that even a limited interaction carried significance because of how long he and Creed had envisioned it.

The wider tag landscape may affect the timing. The Young Bucks have no shortage of potential challengers following their title win. FTR remain among the division's top teams, Copeland and Cage bring enormous experience and star power, and the Motor City Machine Guns have their own claim to being one of the most decorated tandems in modern wrestling. New Level therefore enters a field filled with viable opponents rather than a division waiting for a single new contender.

That competitive depth could work to Kofi and Creed's benefit as well. An extended climb gives them opportunities to build momentum, establish their AEW identity and make the case that they belong in title discussions. It also leaves room for the company to continue teasing interaction with The Bucks before committing to the match.

Trios Rivalry Remains the Immediate Focus

Before any dream collision can take priority, New Level still has significant business in the trios division. Their connection with Strickland has drawn them into the orbit of Page and Brodido, and the situation appears capable of escalating further. The mention of a possible Texas Death Match underscores just how physical and personal that issue could become.

That current story is important for more than just its championship implications. It gives Kofi and Creed the chance to demonstrate their versatility in AEW's environment. Tag-team wrestling may be their most natural showcase, but a trios feud involving Strickland, Page and Brodido places them in a different kind of high-stakes setting. Success there could strengthen their standing across the roster before they pursue The Bucks' championships or a broader showdown involving Omega.

It also presents an interesting contrast. The Page and Brodido rivalry appears to be moving toward a grudge-driven fight, potentially under Texas Death Match rules. A program with The Young Bucks and Omega, meanwhile, would carry a different kind of anticipation: one built around years of discussion, previous near-interactions and the desire to see elite teams finally meet on the same stage.

Neither direction needs to diminish the other. In fact, New Level's current trios work could be the platform that eventually leads them into the tag-title picture. Kofi and Creed have made their long-term interest known, while The Bucks currently hold the prizes that could turn that interest into a championship-level rivalry.

A Clear Goal for New Level

Kofi's comments leave little ambiguity about what he and Creed hope to accomplish in AEW. The move has opened the door to fresh opponents and championship opportunities, but The Young Bucks and Omega stand apart as the names that most directly influenced their decision.

For AEW, that creates a ready-made attraction whenever the timing is right. The company can pursue the straightforward route of New Level challenging The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, or it can build toward the larger spectacle Kofi described by bringing Omega into the equation. Either approach would draw from a story that has developed organically over years: two wrestlers repeatedly naming their ideal opponents and now finding themselves closer than ever to making that match real.

New Level's next steps remain tied to Strickland, Page and Brodido, and no match with The Young Bucks or Omega has been confirmed. Yet Kofi has established the significance of the possibility. What once felt like a distant conversation between wrestlers in different promotions is now an attainable AEW destination—and, in Kofi's words, one that was central to why he and Creed chose to be there.
