Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander have officially earned their opportunity at the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships.

On the October 21 edition of AEW Dynamite, AEW confirmed that Cameron and Statlander will challenge reigning champions the Brawling Birds, Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter, at AEW Full Gear. The announcement follows Cameron and Statlander’s three-way victory at AEW Collision Grand Slam France, where they overcame Divine Dominion and Sisters of Sin to move into the title picture.

The championship match had initially been planned for AEW WrestleDream, but it was postponed because Hayter was not cleared. With Hayter now set to team with Windsor at Full Gear, the delayed confrontation between the champions and their newly established challengers is back on the calendar.

Cameron and Statlander Win the Contender’s Match

The road to Full Gear took shape at Collision Grand Slam France, where Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander faced Divine Dominion, represented by Lena Kross and Megan Bayne, and Sisters of Sin, represented by Julia Hart and Skye Blue. The three-way contest carried major stakes, with a shot at the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles awaiting the winning team.

Statlander and Cameron emerged from a crowded, high-pressure match with the victory. The decisive sequence saw Statlander deliver Saturday Night Fever to Julia Hart. Skye Blue attempted to break up the pinfall, but Cameron stopped the save by pushing Blue from the top rope. Blue fell onto Lena Kross and Megan Bayne, preventing her from reaching Hart in time.

That opening allowed Statlander to finish the cover and secure the win for her team. The result placed Cameron and Statlander directly in line for Windsor and Hayter, turning their Full Gear match into the next major title defense for the Brawling Birds.

The finish also illustrated the complementary nature of Cameron and Statlander’s pairing. Statlander supplied the match-ending power with Saturday Night Fever, while Cameron made the timely intervention that neutralized the final threat to the pin. In a three-team contest, awareness of the other competitors can matter as much as the move that scores the fall, and Cameron’s decision to cut off Blue proved decisive.

The Brawling Birds Await at Full Gear

Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter enter Full Gear as the AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions under the Brawling Birds banner. Their championship reign now faces a challenge from a tandem that survived two other teams in order to reach this position.

The upcoming match carries an additional layer because it was originally intended for WrestleDream. The bout did not take place at that event after Hayter was not cleared, delaying a title encounter that had already been set in motion. AEW’s confirmation on Dynamite makes Full Gear the new destination for the contest.

That delay changes neither team’s objective. Windsor and Hayter will be defending the titles, while Cameron and Statlander will be seeking to turn their contender’s-match win into a championship victory. But the time between the original WrestleDream plan and the Full Gear booking has added anticipation to a match that has been waiting to happen.

For the champions, the task is to protect their position at the top of the division after an interruption to their scheduled plans. For the challengers, it is an opportunity to show that their Collision Grand Slam France victory was more than a single successful night in a multi-team environment.

A Different Kind of Test for Both Teams

Three-way matches demand a different approach than a traditional two-team championship bout. At Collision Grand Slam France, Cameron and Statlander had to contend with two sets of opponents and the possibility that any opening could be exploited by a third team. They handled that environment well enough to earn the decision, but Full Gear will present a more focused challenge.

Against the Brawling Birds, Cameron and Statlander will not have another team available to absorb damage, interrupt momentum, or create accidental openings. Every exchange will be directly tied to the champions and challengers. The contenders will need to sustain the chemistry that helped them prevail in France, while the titleholders will aim to control the pace of a match without the unpredictability of multiple teams involved.

Statlander’s finishing move remains an obvious factor following the way the contender’s match ended. Saturday Night Fever put Hart down and created the moment that won Cameron and Statlander their title shot. The challengers will undoubtedly enter Full Gear knowing they can capitalize if Statlander is able to create a similar opening.

Cameron’s role should be equally important. Her intervention against Blue was not simply a secondary detail in the finish; it prevented the save that would have changed the outcome. In tag team wrestling, those split-second decisions can determine whether a team leaves with a victory or watches an opportunity disappear. Cameron and Statlander will need that same sense of timing against Windsor and Hayter.

Divine Dominion and Sisters of Sin Fall Short

While Cameron and Statlander secured the match that mattered most, the Collision Grand Slam France result also leaves Divine Dominion and Sisters of Sin behind them in the immediate title chase.

Lena Kross and Megan Bayne were taken out of the deciding sequence when Skye Blue was pushed from the top rope onto them. That collision removed both Divine Dominion members from the area just as Hart was being covered. There was no chance for Kross or Bayne to intervene before Statlander completed the pinfall.

For Julia Hart and Skye Blue, the loss was especially close. Hart took Saturday Night Fever, and Blue had positioned herself to make the save. Cameron’s shove changed everything. The attempted rescue did not arrive, Hart remained down, and Sisters of Sin were unable to prevent the three-count.

The result does not change the fact that all three teams were selected for a significant opportunity, but it establishes a clear order in the current situation: Cameron and Statlander have the Full Gear title match, while Divine Dominion and Sisters of Sin must regroup after coming up short in France.

Full Gear’s Women’s Tag Team Championship Picture Is Set

AEW now has a defined AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship match for Full Gear: Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter defending for the Brawling Birds against Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander.

The path to the match is straightforward. Cameron and Statlander won the three-way contender’s bout at Collision Grand Slam France by defeating Divine Dominion and Sisters of Sin. AEW then confirmed on Dynamite that the pair would receive their championship opportunity at Full Gear. The match replaces the previously scheduled WrestleDream title bout that was delayed when Hayter was not cleared.

There is no ambiguity over the stakes. Windsor and Hayter are defending champions. Cameron and Statlander are the challengers who earned their place through victory. One team will leave Full Gear still holding the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles, while the other will leave having fallen short of the division’s top prize.

For Cameron and Statlander, Full Gear represents the payoff for a crucial win and the chance to convert momentum into championship gold. For Windsor and Hayter, it is the opportunity to resume their planned title defense on a major stage and reaffirm the Brawling Birds’ standing as AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The championship match is now official, and the contenders have already shown they can deliver when the pressure rises. At Full Gear, Cameron and Statlander will try to repeat that success against the team holding the titles they want most.
