“Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido are once again AEW World Trios Champions after surviving a heated Two Out of Three Falls showdown with Swerve Strickland and the New Level at AEW WrestleDream.
Page, Brody King and Bandido overcame an early deficit, battled through escalating hostilities between Page and Strickland, and ultimately watched Bandido secure the decisive pinfall over Austin Creed. The win returns the trios championship to Page and Brodido after Strickland, Kofi and Creed took the belts from them at All In in August.
The WrestleDream meeting served as the rubber match between the teams after the New Level and Strickland retained the titles against the former champions at All Out. With the championship rivalry already carrying substantial history, the final chapter became as much about the personal conflict between Page and Strickland as it was about control of AEW’s trios division.
Page and Strickland’s rivalry boiled over immediately
The match did not take long to become combustible. Page was tripped by Strickland from the floor shortly after tagging into the contest, setting off another physical confrontation between the longtime rivals. Rather than allowing the action to remain contained to the legal competitors, Page and Strickland brawled as both sides attempted to separate them.

The situation quickly expanded beyond the two rivals. Members of both trios tried to restore order, while King joined the fray by attacking Strickland. The brawl became chaotic enough that Page took on the unusual role of trying to calm the situation down and separate King from Strickland.
That brief moment of restraint did not erase the tension. Every exchange involving Page and Strickland carried the sense that their issue could again overtake the championship stakes. WrestleDream’s stipulation required teams to earn two falls, creating room for momentum swings, but the Page-Strickland conflict ensured that emotions remained high even when neither man was involved in a pinfall attempt.
The New Level takes the first fall
Strickland, Kofi and Creed entered WrestleDream as the reigning champions following their title victory at All In. On that night, the unit emerged last in the Trios Roulette Royal and captured gold in its first outing together. Their successful defense at All Out established them as champions capable of putting away the team they replaced.
At WrestleDream, they moved one fall away from doing it again.
Kofi and Creed combined to hit the Midnight Hour on Bandido, scoring the three-count and putting the champions ahead 1-0. The result gave the New Level a major advantage in the Two Out of Three Falls format and placed Page, King and Bandido in the difficult position of needing to win consecutive falls.
With Bandido down following the Midnight Hour, Strickland and the New Level sought to end the match quickly. Strickland connected with a Swerve Stomp and went for a cover, but Page broke up the pin attempt. The save prevented the champions from sweeping the contest and immediately brought Page and Strickland back into conflict.
For Page and Brodido, that interruption was critical. It kept their title hopes alive and created the opening they needed to rebuild after the loss of the first fall. It also showed that, despite the volatility between Page and Strickland, Page’s focus remained on stopping the champions from putting the match away.
Brodido levels the score
Page, King and Bandido responded with a coordinated sequence that shifted the match back in their favor. King used his power to cannonball both Creed and Kofi in the corner, taking out two opponents at once and opening space for the challengers to strike.
Page followed by hitting Strickland with the Buckshot. With Strickland neutralized, King then monkey flipped Bandido into a senton. The aerial impact landed on Creed, and Bandido made the cover to score the equalizing fall.
The victory in the second fall made the score 1-1 and reset the match with the trios championship hanging on a single remaining decision. It also underlined the balance within Page and Brodido’s group. King’s physicality created the opportunity, Page removed Strickland from the equation, and Bandido supplied the decisive finishing impact and cover.
That teamwork was especially important given the champions’ three-man attack. Strickland, Kofi and Creed had been able to capitalize on the first-fall opening with the Midnight Hour, but Page and Brodido answered with an equally effective sequence built around all three members contributing at the same time.
Bandido withstands the champions to win the titles
The final fall placed Bandido at the center of the action. He endured an extended assault from all three opponents before producing the key offensive burst that turned the match toward the challengers.
Bandido delivered an avalanche flipping bodyslam to both Creed and Kofi, a dramatic maneuver that took down the New Level’s two representatives at once. With the challengers gaining momentum, the closing moments came down to Bandido’s ability to counter a major move rather than absorb another one.
Creed attempted a JML Driver, but Bandido reversed it into a roll-up. The counter caught Creed in position for the decisive three-count, giving Page, King and Bandido their second fall and the AEW World Trios Championship.
The finish put Bandido in the spotlight after he had absorbed much of the champions’ offense during the closing stretch. It also completed an in-ring comeback that began after the New Level had scored the opening fall. Page and Brodido did not simply survive a one-fall deficit; they won the final two decisions of a championship match against the team that had beaten them at All In and retained against them at All Out.
A tense title handover follows the match
The aftermath kept the focus on the unresolved friction between Page and Strickland.
After the decision, Strickland refused to hand his championship belt directly to Page. He also called for Kofi and Creed to keep their belts from King and Bandido. The New Level did not follow Strickland’s direction, however, and handed the championships over to the new titleholders.
Strickland then dropped his belt in front of Page before walking away.
The moment was not a celebration between competitors after a difficult match. Instead, it added another pointed chapter to Page and Strickland’s relationship. Strickland’s refusal to personally present Page with the title belt, followed by his decision to leave it on the ground, ensured that the loss would not provide any obvious closure between the two men.
Page, King and Bandido leave WrestleDream with the championship, but the final visual made clear that Strickland’s conflict with Page remains deeply personal. The belts have changed hands, yet the animosity that drove much of the match is still present.
Trios division shifts again after the rubber match
The title change ends the New Level and Strickland’s first reign together after their breakout victory at All In. Their formation immediately delivered championship success, as they survived the Trios Roulette Royal and emerged with the AEW World Trios Championship on their first night as a unit.
They subsequently defended the titles at All Out against Page and Brodido, making WrestleDream the third major stop in a championship series that developed quickly across August, All Out and WrestleDream. With Page and Brodido victorious in the Two Out of Three Falls rubber match, the former champions have now answered the All In defeat in the most definitive way available: by regaining the gold through two separate falls.
For Page, the victory adds championship restoration to an ongoing issue with Strickland. For King and Bandido, it returns the trios titles to the partnership known as Brodido, with Page once again alongside them. Their WrestleDream performance demonstrated the contrasting strengths of the group: King’s destructive power, Bandido’s speed and resilience, and Page’s ability to deliver momentum-changing offense while dealing with Strickland’s constant presence.
The new champions now stand at the head of AEW’s trios landscape. But after Strickland’s defiant post-match response, their victory is unlikely to be remembered solely as a title change. WrestleDream gave Page and Brodido their championships back, while leaving Page and Strickland with no indication that their own conflict has reached its end.
