The scheduled Pro-Wrestling: EVE tag team match between AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Brawling Birds and Hyperactive has been rescheduled following Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor’s involvement in Blood & Guts.
Hayter and Windsor, who compete as The Brawling Birds, had been advertised to face Anita Vaughn and Safire Reed of Hyperactive at EVE’s November 8 event. The match will no longer take place on that date. Promoter Dann Read confirmed the decision during an appearance on In The Weeds, explaining that discussions with the wrestlers led to an agreement to move the bout rather than ask the AEW champions to return to the ring immediately after Blood & Guts.
The adjustment comes with another major obligation looming for Hayter and Windsor. The Brawling Birds are scheduled to defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander at Full Gear on November 14, one week after the originally planned EVE appearance.
Safety and the Full Gear title defense were central factors
Blood & Guts is built around one of the most punishing environments in AEW, with wrestlers competing inside a double-cage structure and the match traditionally escalating into a physically demanding, weapon-heavy fight. Read praised the contest while acknowledging the toll such a match can take on everyone involved.

“However, obviously last night, we all watched Blood & Guts. It was an incredible match, incredibly violent… Those matches do have a massive effect on you,” Read said on In The Weeds.
Read said EVE spoke with the talent the following morning and decided the sensible move was to postpone The Brawling Birds versus Hyperactive. He stressed that the decision was made collaboratively, based on the wrestlers’ comfort level after Blood & Guts and the championship defense awaiting them at Full Gear.
“So we’ve spoken to the talent this morning and basically the decision’s been made, considering Blood & Guts was last night, and they’ve got a big Tag Title defense at Full Gear, a week from this Saturday. The decision was to play safe and to reschedule the Hyperactive versus Brawling Birds match for as soon as we can do it in the future basically.”
Importantly, Read characterized the change as a rescheduling rather than a cancellation. No replacement date was announced, but his comments made clear that EVE intends to present Hyperactive against The Brawling Birds when scheduling allows.
No injury announcement attached to the change
There was no injury announcement connected to the postponement. Instead, the move reflects a measured approach after an especially physical AEW match, particularly with the champions headed into a title defense on pay-per-view less than two weeks later.
That distinction matters. In professional wrestling, post-match changes can often spark speculation about a wrestler’s availability, but the explanation in this case was direct: the parties involved elected to be cautious in the immediate aftermath of Blood & Guts. Read said the bout was not being pulled because EVE had been forced into a decision.
“It’s not a thing that’s being forced on us or anything along those lines. It’s literally just a case of talking with a talent, what they’re comfortable with, after what has happened, and what they’ve got coming up.”
For an independent promotion, a match featuring established AEW champions is an attraction worth protecting. For Hayter and Windsor, delaying the appearance also preserves the chance to deliver the match with Hyperactive under conditions that better serve all four wrestlers and the EVE audience.
Hyperactive’s opportunity is delayed, not removed
Vaughn and Reed had been set for a high-profile contest against one of AEW’s current championship teams. While the November 8 match will not go ahead as initially advertised, Hyperactive have not lost the opportunity entirely. Read’s expectation is that EVE will bring the match back as soon as a future event can accommodate it.
The eventual meeting has clear appeal regardless of when it lands. Hayter and Windsor bring championship status and major-event experience from AEW, while Hyperactive were positioned to test themselves against a team arriving with momentum and a demanding schedule. Moving the match gives the promotion a chance to revisit that matchup rather than rush it in the narrow window between Blood & Guts and Full Gear.
The rescheduling also underlines the increasingly interconnected nature of wrestling calendars. Talent can work significant dates across multiple promotions, but a match as physically intense as Blood & Guts can alter plans quickly. The decision here accounted for the realities of recovery without closing the door on a match EVE clearly wants to present.
All eyes now turn to Cameron and Statlander at Full Gear
With the EVE match moved, the immediate focus for The Brawling Birds is their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship defense against Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander at Full Gear on November 14.
Cameron and Statlander represent a formidable challenge for Hayter and Windsor. The title match will take place after the champions have already endured the effects of Blood & Guts, adding another layer to an important defense. While EVE’s decision does not suggest that the champions will miss Full Gear, it removes an additional match from the days leading into that event.
For Hayter and Windsor, that extra recovery time could be valuable. A championship defense is demanding under any circumstances, and the physical residue of a major cage match can influence preparation even when competitors remain cleared and ready to perform. By taking the November 8 EVE bout off the immediate schedule, the champions can focus their attention on Cameron and Statlander.
Read’s comments also put the choice in a wrestler-first context. Rather than framing the change as a promotional conflict or an imposed restriction, he described it as a conversation involving the people who would have had to compete. That approach avoids turning a rescheduled match into a larger controversy and keeps the emphasis on delivering it at the right time.
What the schedule change means
- The Brawling Birds versus Hyperactive will not take place at Pro-Wrestling: EVE on November 8.
- Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor competed in AEW’s Blood & Guts match shortly before the planned EVE date.
- The match is expected to be rescheduled for a future EVE event, though no date has been confirmed.
- Hayter and Windsor are still scheduled to defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander at Full Gear on November 14.
- No injury was announced in connection with the decision to postpone the EVE match.
For now, fans waiting to see The Brawling Birds meet Hyperactive will need to wait a little longer. The matchup remains on EVE’s radar, but the immediate priority is allowing Hayter and Windsor to recover from Blood & Guts and prepare for a major AEW title defense at Full Gear.
