BDE is headed to Bound For Glory after winning the final qualifying match for the vacant TNA X-Division Championship on the October 1 edition of TNA Impact. BDE overcame Mr. Elegance in a competitive singles bout, using a timely roll-up after escaping his opponent’s finishing attempt to secure his place in the championship six-way.
The victory completes the field for one of Bound For Glory’s most significant title matches. BDE will join Ryan Nemeth, Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro, Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander in the battle to determine the next X-Division Champion when TNA presents its annual marquee event from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, on October 11.
The championship is vacant following Leon Slater’s decision to invoke Option C. Slater had reclaimed the X-Division Championship at TNA Lockdown by defeating Cedric Alexander of The System, but he subsequently surrendered the title in return for a shot at the TNA World Championship. Slater is now set to challenge Nic Nemeth for TNA’s top prize at Bound For Glory, creating the opening for a new X-Division champion to be crowned on the same card.
BDE survives Mr. Elegance in final qualifier
The final qualifier began with Mr. Elegance establishing control through a headlock takedown. As a member of the Elegance Brand, he entered the match looking to turn a singles victory into a major championship opportunity. BDE, however, steadily changed the pace with the type of quick-strike offense associated with the X-Division.

BDE answered the early takedown with a springboard crossbody and an arm drag before taking the fight outside the ring. A dive through the ropes sent Mr. Elegance crashing to the floor and gave BDE a clear surge of momentum. The sequence placed Elegance on the defensive and appeared to put BDE in position to close out the contest.
Mr. Elegance had a response ready once the action returned inside. He avoided a springboard cutter attempt, then caught BDE with a pop-up right hand. From there, Elegance pressed his advantage with a German suplex and a clothesline, earning a near fall while keeping BDE from building on his earlier burst of offense.
The match continued to swing back and forth. Mr. Elegance delivered a stalling suplex, but BDE fought his way back into the bout with a codebreaker. That comeback did not immediately settle the contest, as Elegance fired back with another right hand and a lungblower. With BDE in danger, Mr. Elegance looked to finish the match with Excusez-Moi.
That decision proved decisive. BDE escaped the move before it could be completed and quickly rolled Mr. Elegance up for the three-count. The sudden finish gave BDE the win and the final available position in the Bound For Glory title match.
BDE’s roll-up win over Mr. Elegance finalized the six-man field for the vacant TNA X-Division Championship at Bound For Glory.
The Bound For Glory X-Division Championship field
BDE enters a match that will feature a broad mix of competitors and paths to contention. Ryan Nemeth, Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro and Rich Swann have also qualified for the championship match, while Cedric Alexander enters under different circumstances. Alexander secured his place through a contractual rematch clause after losing the championship to Slater at Lockdown.
That detail makes Alexander’s inclusion particularly important. While the title is no longer held by Slater because of Option C, Alexander remains connected to the championship picture through the rematch right tied to his previous reign. At Bound For Glory, he will have an immediate chance to regain the title he lost rather than having to work through the qualifying process.
For BDE, the victory over Mr. Elegance provides a direct route into the biggest X-Division match on TNA’s calendar. Winning a qualifier is one achievement; navigating a six-way match against five opponents is another challenge entirely. The format means the championship can change hands without every competitor needing to be directly involved in the deciding fall, placing added value on timing, awareness and the ability to capitalize on brief openings.
The lineup also ensures that the new champion will emerge from a field containing both established names and wrestlers seeking a defining breakthrough. Swann brings previous championship pedigree to the match, while Alexander has a specific claim rooted in his contractual rematch. Nemeth, Aichner, Navarro and BDE each have an opportunity to leave Tampa with the championship at a moment when the division is being reshaped.
Leon Slater’s Option C decision changes the card
The X-Division Championship’s vacancy stems from Slater’s move to pursue the TNA World Championship. At Lockdown, Slater defeated Alexander to reclaim the X-Division title. His reign was short because he chose to invoke Option C, the stipulation that allows the X-Division Champion to relinquish the belt in exchange for a TNA World Championship match.
Slater’s choice has transformed Bound For Glory into a two-track night for TNA’s title picture. While six wrestlers compete to fill the X-Division vacancy, Slater will challenge Nic Nemeth for the company’s biggest championship. The arrangement gives Slater an opportunity to move from the X-Division title scene into the World Championship picture, while simultaneously giving a new group of contenders a chance to establish the next direction of the division he left behind.
Nic Nemeth’s defense against Slater therefore sits alongside the six-way match as part of a larger championship reset. The World Championship encounter will determine whether Slater’s gamble pays off, and the X-Division contest will decide which wrestler takes possession of the title he gave up.
Bound For Glory card continues to take shape
TNA Bound For Glory will take place October 11 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa. In addition to the X-Division Championship six-way and the World Championship match between Nemeth and Slater, the event will feature Xia Brookside defending the Knockouts World Championship against Indi Hartwell.
Brookside’s title defense gives the Knockouts division a major championship showcase on the card, while Hartwell has the chance to capture the title in one of TNA’s highest-profile settings. The event will also include Ricky Sosa against Eddie Edwards in singles competition.
With BDE now officially added to the X-Division Championship match, one of the card’s key championship fields is complete. His win over Mr. Elegance did not come through overwhelming dominance or a decisive finishing move. Instead, BDE endured several momentum shifts, escaped a late attempt at Excusez-Moi and took the opening he needed when it mattered most.
That resilience carried BDE through the final qualifier. At Bound For Glory, it will take even more to survive a six-way contest and emerge as the new TNA X-Division Champion.
