WWE has added a six-man tag team match to the October 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, with Rey Fenix set to join forces with Fraxiom, Axiom and Nathan Frazer, against the trio of Ricky Saints and The War Raiders, Erik and Ivar.

The event is scheduled for Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The newly announced match expands a card that already includes two Money in the Bank qualifying matches, as well as a singles meeting between Giulia and Blake Monroe.

Fenix pairing with Fraxiom creates a particularly fast-paced side for the six-man encounter. Axiom and Frazer have built their identity around urgency, athleticism and a willingness to keep the pace high, while Fenix brings a spectacular aerial style and extensive tag team experience to the unit. Across the ring, Saints will have the physical backing of Erik and Ivar, a pairing capable of changing the tone of a match through their size and power.

With three wrestlers on each side, the contest also gives every participant a chance to make an impression on a SmackDown card loaded with major names. Six-man tags can be volatile by design: quick tags can produce sustained momentum, while a single opening can leave one competitor isolated against an opposing team. The contrast between Fenix and Fraxiom’s speed and the War Raiders’ force is likely to be central to the bout.

Rey Fenix and Fraxiom bring speed to the Denver card

Fenix’s inclusion immediately adds another dynamic to Fraxiom’s approach. Axiom and Frazer are already equipped to create rapid exchanges, whether they are working together or using their individual athleticism to open the ring. Adding Fenix gives the team another wrestler who can thrive in a high-tempo environment and capitalize when the action breaks down.

That does not necessarily mean the trio will have an easy route to victory. In a six-man setting, coordination matters as much as individual explosiveness. Fenix, Axiom and Frazer will need to avoid letting Saints and the War Raiders slow the match down and use their advantage in physicality. The larger team’s ability to cut off the ring could be a major factor if they can keep one of their quicker opponents from reaching the corner.

There is also an obvious appeal in the range of possible matchups. Fenix and Ivar, in particular, represent two very different versions of athletic wrestling. Frazer and Axiom can match up with the pace of Saints, while Erik’s physical presence gives his side another route to control the contest. Those combinations should make the six-man match one of the more unpredictable additions to the show.

For Fenix, competing alongside Fraxiom also offers an opportunity to show how well he can work within a newly formed three-man alliance. The October 2 match has been announced as a single six-man tag, rather than a longer-term group declaration, but the pairing gives WWE a fresh combination for the Denver audience.

Ricky Saints and The War Raiders offer a powerful opposition

Saints will not be entering the match alone. Erik and Ivar give him a formidable team around him, and their presence could shape the entire rhythm of the contest. The War Raiders have the strength to make tags difficult to reach and the explosiveness to turn an opening into sustained offense.

Against opponents as quick as Fenix, Axiom and Frazer, the key for Saints and the War Raiders will be imposing their own conditions. A brawl or power-based exchange would favor their side far more than a sequence of constant movement and rapid transitions. Erik and Ivar can force the issue simply by making their opponents absorb contact, while Saints can look to take advantage of whatever openings are created.

The six-man format also allows Saints and the War Raiders to use numbers effectively without putting the match in a conventional tag team structure. The legal wrestler can make frequent tags, keeping a fresh opponent in the ring and preventing Fenix or either member of Fraxiom from establishing a prolonged rhythm. Conversely, if the faster team can force frequent movement and draw their opponents out of position, the power advantage may become harder to use.

There is no shortage of potential momentum swings in this matchup. One clean tag could change who is in control, and the size difference between the teams means that the match could shift dramatically depending on which competitors are matched up at any given moment.

Two Money in the Bank qualifiers headline the announced bouts

The six-man tag joins a card that already has significant stakes attached to it through the Money in the Bank qualifying matches. On the men’s side, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano are scheduled to meet in a three-way qualifier. Each competitor brings a different approach to a match where one decisive moment can determine who advances.

Triple-threat qualifying matches are especially difficult to navigate because no competitor can rely on keeping the action contained to one opponent. Rhodes, Owens and Gargano will all have to watch for opportunities created by the other two, and the match will carry the added urgency of a place in the Money in the Bank field.

The women’s Money in the Bank qualifier will feature Tatum Paxley, Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae. Like the men’s contest, it will be a three-way bout in which positioning, timing and survival can be every bit as important as momentum. The winner will move one step closer to the Money in the Bank ladder match and the championship opportunity associated with the briefcase.

Both qualifiers ensure that the October 2 episode is not simply a showcase of rivalries and matchups. Advancement is on the line, placing immediate importance on the outcomes of the two triple-threat matches. The six-man tag does not carry that same stated qualifying stipulation, but it will provide another major opportunity for six competitors to establish momentum on SmackDown.

Giulia and Blake Monroe set for singles competition

Also confirmed for Denver is a singles match between Giulia and Blake Monroe. The bout gives the women’s division another featured contest on a show already including Paxley, Stratton and LeRae in the Money in the Bank qualifier.

Giulia versus Monroe stands apart from the multi-person qualifying match because it places the focus squarely on one-on-one execution. There will be no additional opponent to account for and no shifting alliance that can emerge in a three-way setting. The result will come down to which wrestler can best impose her own match plan in the ring.

With four announced matches, the October 2 SmackDown card has a mixture of formats: a six-man tag team contest, a women’s singles match and two triple-threat Money in the Bank qualifiers. That variety gives the Denver show both immediate stakes and a broad range of in-ring styles.
