Former WWE star Joe Gacy is not closing the door on a future Wyatt Sicks reunion.
Gacy, who is now competing under the name Joseph Sawyer, has addressed the uncertain future of the group following the releases of its members earlier this year. With Bo Dallas, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis and Gacy now pursuing separate opportunities, the former faction is no longer operating as the unit WWE audiences knew. Even so, Gacy believes there is still room for some version of the group to come together again down the road.
Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Gacy acknowledged that the former members are beginning to branch into individual directions, but said he is still optimistic about a reunion.
“I’m hoping,” Gacy said. “Unfortunately, everybody’s starting to branch off and doing their own things here and there. But I’m hoping we can get the band back together.”

The comment reflects the difficult balance facing any wrestling group after its members leave the same promotion. The Wyatt Sicks had been linked by a shared presentation and an established on-screen identity in WWE, but the realities of the independent circuit mean that schedules, bookings and personal priorities can quickly send performers in different directions. Gacy’s remarks do not confirm a full-scale reunion, nor do they establish a timetable for one. They do, however, make clear that he would welcome the opportunity.
For the moment, the most immediate continuation of those connections appears to be through smaller combinations of former members rather than an all-inclusive Wyatt Sicks act. Gacy said he and Dexter Lumis have bookings lined up as a tag team. He also indicated that he, Lumis and Erick Rowan are expected to work together as a trio on another show.
“We have some stuff where me and Dexter are tagging,” Gacy said. “I think we have something where me, Dexter and Rowan are going to be tagging.”
Those appearances are significant because they suggest that the relationships built within the group have not simply disappeared with the WWE releases. A tag team booking or a trios appearance is not necessarily a re-creation of the entire act, but it gives fans an opportunity to see familiar combinations in a new setting. It also leaves open the possibility that a broader reunion could grow organically if the members continue to find compatible dates and the demand is there.
Gacy additionally pointed to at least one event that is expected to feature himself, Lumis, Rowan and Nikki Cross on the same card. While that is not the complete five-person lineup, it would bring together four wrestlers closely associated with the group’s WWE run. Whether they appear in a shared match, work separately, or simply take part in the same event remains an open question. Gacy did not offer further details regarding how that show would be structured.
The biggest uncertainty is Bo Dallas. Gacy was careful not to make assumptions about his former stablemate’s plans, saying he could not speak for Dallas or predict what his future will hold.
“I can’t speak for Bo, I don’t really know what the future looks like for him,” Gacy said. “But yeah. I mean, I would love to. I would hope that maybe one day we can all get back together and do something again. I think it’d be a lot of fun.”
That caveat is important. A Wyatt Sicks reunion, particularly one involving every former member, would require more than goodwill from Gacy and a handful of available bookings. It would depend on Dallas’ interest, the availability of the rest of the group, and the right setting for an appearance that feels meaningful rather than merely nostalgic. At this stage, Gacy is expressing a hope rather than announcing a plan.
Joseph Sawyer has been the most active former member
Among the released Wyatt Sicks members, Gacy has been the most visible in-ring presence under his new identity. As Joseph Sawyer, he has already captured the GCW World Heavyweight Championship, establishing momentum quickly after leaving WWE. The title victory has given him a prominent platform while he also explores opportunities to team with familiar allies from his WWE tenure.
That activity makes Gacy a natural voice to discuss the possibility of keeping pieces of the group together. He is currently competing regularly, and the planned tag and trios appearances he mentioned show that he is not treating his post-WWE career as a complete break from the people with whom he shared the Wyatt Sicks presentation.
There is also a practical benefit to those partial reunions. Former faction members who work together already have a degree of familiarity that can help them immediately in new environments. They understand each other’s rhythms, have shared history to draw upon, and can offer promoters a recognizable combination without needing to present an exact replica of what existed in WWE. For fans, those reunions can serve as a bridge between the group’s previous chapter and whatever comes next for the individuals involved.
Still, Sawyer’s championship success also underlines why each wrestler may have good reason to build independently. His career is moving forward under a new name and within a new competitive landscape. A reunion can be appealing while a singles trajectory remains the priority. The same is true for every former member who now has the freedom to pursue different roles and projects.
Nikki Cross continues wrestling and takes on a new role with PROGRESS
Nikki Cross has remained active in the ring while also taking on a major business role in professional wrestling. Cross is now an owner of PROGRESS Wrestling alongside her husband, Big Damo. That development gives her responsibilities beyond her own matches and adds another dimension to her post-WWE path.
Her continued in-ring work means Cross remains connected to the performance side of wrestling, while her ownership position places her in a different kind of leadership role. Those commitments could make any future full-group project more complicated to arrange, but they also demonstrate that Cross has not stepped away from the industry following her WWE release.
For a potential Wyatt Sicks reunion, Cross would be a crucial part of the equation. Gacy’s mention of an event involving himself, Lumis, Rowan and Cross shows there is at least an avenue for four former members to be present in the same place. It is not confirmation of a faction return, but it is more tangible than a purely hypothetical discussion.
Rowan and Dallas have maintained lower profiles
Erick Rowan and Bo Dallas have been less active publicly in the ring since their departures. Rowan has wrestled only one match since his WWE release, while Dallas has not wrestled at all. Their quieter profiles contrast with Sawyer’s title-winning run and Cross’ continued wrestling and ownership work.
That difference in activity is another reason Gacy’s cautious phrasing matters. It would be easy to frame any shared booking involving multiple former members as evidence of an imminent complete reunion. The available information does not support that conclusion. Rowan’s limited match activity and Dallas’ absence from competition mean that the former group is not moving forward at the same pace or in the same way.
Instead, the picture is one of five performers at a crossroads. Sawyer is actively building momentum and collecting championship gold. Cross is juggling active competition with a substantial role in PROGRESS Wrestling. Lumis is set to share the ring with Sawyer in at least some capacity. Rowan is expected to be involved in a proposed trios outing, despite wrestling sparingly since leaving WWE. Dallas’ next move remains unclear.
For now, fans hoping to see the full Wyatt Sicks lineup again will have to wait. Gacy’s comments offer encouragement, especially with multiple former members expected to cross paths on independent events, but they stop short of promising that all five will reunite. The strongest takeaway is that Gacy has not moved on from the idea. He wants the band back together, and planned appearances with Lumis, Rowan and Cross could keep that possibility alive as each former member charts a separate course.
