Nikki Bella does not believe she and Brie Bella will have one final singles match against each other before their respective wrestling careers come to a close.
The Bella Twins have been closely connected throughout their time in WWE, building their identities as a tandem while also stepping into rivalry roles against one another at different points. A final match between the sisters would carry obvious emotional weight because of that history, but Nikki suggested the circumstances surrounding both women make it difficult to envision.
Speaking in a recent interview with Justin Dorazio, Nikki was asked whether she could see herself facing Brie one more time before they retire from the ring. Nikki said injuries and the stage of their careers have changed how she views the possibility.
“I mean, now, like, after our injuries, I don’t think so,” Nikki said. “We’re so, like, at the end of our in-ring careers that I feel like it just has to be together at this point.”

That answer does not diminish Nikki’s interest in the idea. Instead, it reflects her sense that the timing may have passed for the twins to revisit their rivalry in a meaningful singles setting. Nikki spoke fondly of wrestling Brie and made clear that she valued the rhythm they found when working together as opponents.
The sisters’ connection has always been a unique part of what they bring to a match. Tag team partners who know each other’s instincts can often create a different dynamic once they are placed on opposite sides. The familiarity can make a rivalry feel personal, while their shared experience allows the wrestlers to anticipate timing, positioning, and momentum at a level most opponents cannot replicate.
Nikki said that was particularly true of her matches with Brie. She compared that chemistry to the kind she felt during her work with Paige, explaining that certain opponents naturally bring out strong performances from one another.
“I would have loved that though before, because I really loved that match with Brie,” Nikki said. “It’s a lot like when I have my matches with Paige, there’s certain people you work with and you have great chemistry with and you give a lot to each other.”
For Nikki, the appeal was not simply the prospect of another Bella Twins rivalry. It was the opportunity to revisit a matchup with an opponent she trusts and with whom she believes she shares an instinctive in-ring connection. Nikki recalled that their timing came naturally when they faced each other, a quality that can be difficult to manufacture even among accomplished performers.
“We just are timing,” Nikki said while reflecting on their work together. “You just have chemistry.”
A final singles match between the twins would therefore represent more than a nostalgia attraction. It could serve as a closing chapter for two wrestlers whose careers have been intertwined from the beginning. Their shared history as a team remains central to their legacy, but their past conflicts established that they could also bring a different kind of intensity to the ring when their relationship was put under strain.
Still, Nikki’s comments point toward the Bella Twins prioritizing a potential reunion rather than another split. Her belief that anything left in their in-ring future “has to be together” is notable. It suggests that, should the sisters have another significant wrestling moment, Nikki sees it more naturally taking shape with them aligned rather than opposing each other.
That does not mean Nikki lacks creative ideas for how Brie could re-enter a storyline. During the interview, she described a scenario in which Brie could return and confront her, particularly within a story involving Paige. Nikki said she would have enjoyed a moment where Brie came in to challenge her directly. However, she also acknowledged the practical obstacle standing in the way.
“I would love for Brie to, like, if it was still Paige and I in a story, for her to come in and call me out,” Nikki said. “But, like, by the time she heals and comes back, I don’t think it’ll happen, unfortunately.”
Nikki did not present that outlook as a firm declaration that Brie will never wrestle again. Rather, she framed it as an unfortunate assessment of timing. Careers in professional wrestling can change quickly, and the possibility of a return can remain open longer than expected. At the same time, Nikki’s remarks make it clear that she is not currently expecting the circumstances to line up for one more singles meeting.
The discussion arrives as Nikki remains active in the WWE conversation. On the most recent edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Nikki challenged Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s Championship. The championship challenge placed Nikki back in a prominent WWE setting and underscored that she still sees value in competing at a high level.
That appearance also gives added context to her comments about the end of her in-ring career. Nikki is not speaking about her future from a distance. She has recently been positioned in a title picture, yet she is also candid about the physical realities that accompany a long career and about the limited window that may remain for major matches.
For fans of the Bella Twins, a final singles encounter may remain an appealing hypothetical. Their previous rivalries offered a rare premise: twins and longtime partners forced to test a bond that had defined so much of their professional lives. The emotional foundation is already there, and Nikki’s praise for Brie as an opponent indicates that the in-ring foundation is there as well.
But Nikki’s current perspective is that a final showdown is unlikely. The combination of injuries, recovery time, and both sisters being near the latter stages of their wrestling journeys has led her to believe that another one-on-one match probably will not happen.
If the Bellas do share another notable WWE ring moment, Nikki’s comments suggest it may be better suited to celebrate what made them successful together. A reunion would align with the partnership that has anchored their careers, while a singles match would require the timing, health, and storyline opportunity that Nikki does not expect to materialize.
There is still a clear sense of appreciation in Nikki’s words. She would have welcomed another chance to work with Brie as an opponent, and she remembers their previous match with enthusiasm. Yet appreciation for what a match could have been is different from predicting that it will happen. On that question, Nikki offered a straightforward answer: she does not think the Bella Twins will get one last singles chapter before retirement.
