Former WWE extra talent and longtime Ohio Valley Wrestling wrestler Jamin Olivencia has opened up about the backstage encounter he believes led to him being excluded from future WWE opportunities.

Speaking on LiMPiN AiNT EASY, Olivencia detailed an experience from his time regularly appearing around WWE events during the 2000s and 2010s. At the center of his story was an effort to follow up on encouragement he had received from Stephanie McMahon, only for his approach to Paul “Triple H” Levesque to go badly wrong.

Olivencia, who wrestled for OVW from 2005 through 2014 and later returned to the promotion, said his initial interaction with McMahon took place while he was near a monitor at a WWE event. He introduced himself as an OVW talent, and he recalled that McMahon complimented the way he spoke. That conversation led to her asking him to record a promo that could be sent to her.

At the time, Olivencia said Brooklyn Brawler handled promo-related duties. He approached him and explained that McMahon had asked to see a promo. Olivencia acknowledged in retrospect that the material he recorded was not especially strong, but he believed he had done what was requested and submitted it through the expected channels.

When he next encountered McMahon, however, she told him that she had not received the promo. Olivencia said she suggested that he speak directly with Levesque about potentially arranging a meeting. That guidance, as Olivencia now sees it, was where an ambitious attempt to create an opportunity became a lesson in timing, boundaries and the realities of approaching a senior executive on a hectic television production day.

A Meeting That Never Happened

Olivencia said he first approached Levesque at a Raw event and asked whether there might be an opportunity to talk. Levesque responded that it was not a good time, and Olivencia said he accepted that answer at that point.

The following day, during the SmackDown taping, Olivencia saw Levesque in a hallway after he had been speaking with Kofi Kingston. Olivencia waited nearby, then began walking with Levesque and again tried to make his case. He recalled telling Levesque that he believed he could be effective in a role aimed at children and that he could be marketable if given an opportunity.

Levesque again said he did not have time, and Olivencia recognized that he appeared irritated. Still, Olivencia continued pressing for a discussion. He described his mindset at the time as an attempt to “grab the brass ring,” believing he was displaying initiative and confidence. Instead, he felt the exchange had become uncomfortable.

“In my mind, in the moment, I thought I was grabbing the brass ring, and I thought I was showing initiative, and it ended up backfiring on me,” Olivencia said on LiMPiN AiNT EASY.

Olivencia said Levesque ultimately directed him to speak with Canyon Ceman, who was identified as Levesque’s point person at the time. Olivencia came away from the handshake and the interaction with the feeling that he had made a serious mistake.

Not long afterward, while he was in catering speaking with other wrestlers, security approached him. He said he was informed that he was not on the approved list and would have to leave the building. Olivencia stated that another person present tried to explain that he had been around WWE events regularly, but security then asked him whether he had followed Levesque into a bathroom to ask for a job.

Olivencia Denies Bathroom Story

That accusation became a major part of Olivencia’s recollection because he firmly denied it happened. He maintained that he spoke with Levesque only in the hallway and that he had never followed him into a bathroom.

Security nevertheless told him that Levesque did not want him in the building and that he would likely not be brought back. Olivencia said he initially wondered whether the incident was some kind of rib, but the situation became more painful as people he knew in WWE began contacting him after hearing the bathroom version of events.

For Olivencia, the embarrassment extended beyond being removed from the show. He recalled being escorted out in front of people arriving at the arena. He also said the same question continued to follow him as he left: why he would supposedly follow Levesque into a bathroom. His answer remained the same: he had not done it.

“So this became the narrative, and I was like, ‘I didn’t follow him into a bathroom,’ and I just was crumbling,” Olivencia said.

The former OVW wrestler did not present the account as proof of a formal WWE ban or an official company ruling. Rather, he described it as the beginning of a perception that he was no longer welcome in that environment, a perception he says was reinforced years later.

Return Invite Ends With Another Removal

Olivencia said that approximately five years after the initial incident, Ceman contacted him and invited him to attend Raw. He took the invitation as a possible indication that the prior situation had been resolved or forgotten.

He drove from Louisville to Cleveland through a snowstorm, a trip he recalled taking roughly six hours under normal circumstances but lasting longer due to the weather. Upon arriving at the event, Olivencia said he received warm greetings from numerous people and began to feel as though he was back in familiar territory.

He also recalled speaking with Road Dogg about the possibility of working a dark match or another match connected to the following night’s SmackDown. Olivencia believed the day was progressing positively, though he said he had a lingering sense that something did not feel right.

Later, a referee asked to speak with him privately. Olivencia said the referee told him that he was apparently not supposed to be there and used the term “blackballed” in explaining the situation. Olivencia said he was informed that then-WWE Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano did not want him at the show.

He was also told that WWE would not be able to pay him for making the trip. Olivencia recalled asking to be compensated at least for the day because of the difficult drive to Cleveland, but he said he was ultimately removed from the building again.

Adding to the surreal nature of the moment, Olivencia said the security guard who escorted him out was the same guard involved in his earlier removal. He explained that he had returned only because he had been invited, but the outcome left him with the impression that the old issue had never truly disappeared.

Taking Responsibility Years Later

While Olivencia was deeply frustrated at the time, he now views the experience differently. He said that his immediate reaction had been to blame Levesque and resent the way the situation unfolded. With distance, he has concluded that he did not properly appreciate how busy Levesque was or how his repeated attempts to force a conversation could have been received.

Olivencia was 28 at the time of the original interaction. He said he lacked the foresight to recognize that persistence in that setting could come across as intrusive, particularly after he had already been told that it was not the right time to talk. He described his own energy as potentially intense and accepted that he may have made an already difficult moment more aggravating.

“I can always look at that experience with Hunter and take full responsibility that I put myself in that position,” Olivencia said. “I’m the one that was aggressive.”

That self-assessment is an important distinction in Olivencia’s story. He continues to deny the specific bathroom allegation, but he does not frame himself as blameless in the broader encounter. Instead, he said taking accountability helped him move beyond the disappointment and stop defining his career through what happened at WWE events.

Olivencia also believes the path away from WWE ultimately benefited him. He said building his business and working with people outside that world taught him more about himself and about professional relationships. In his view, the setback pushed him toward a different kind of growth rather than ending his involvement in wrestling.

Life After the WWE Opportunity

Olivencia continued wrestling long after the events he described and last wrestled for Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2025. He also co-runs DREAM Pro Wrestling with Truth Magnum of The Outrunners, remaining active in the independent scene and in the promotional side of the industry.

His account offers a reminder of the fine line wrestlers often navigate while trying to earn an opportunity at the highest level. Initiative can be valuable, but the setting, timing and manner of an approach can matter just as much. Olivencia’s experience did not lead to the WWE breakthrough he wanted, but years later, he has reached a measure of peace by separating the disputed rumor from the choices he says he could have handled differently.

For Olivencia, the defining takeaway is no longer simply that he was pushed out of a WWE building. It is that he learned to accept the consequences of an approach he now believes was too aggressive, while continuing to reject the claim that he ever followed Levesque into a bathroom to ask for a job.
